Traditional old house in the heart of Essaouira's medina ; the old town.
Retro style but keeping the simple beauty of the house with original tiles and ceilings. 60s and 70s touches complete the vibe of this little hippy boho retreat. Sleeps up to 6. Self catering. Wifi.
The house is a little gem, in a simple living boheme style. Its not luxury ,don't expect that, but it is special!!
Set over 4 floors. The house has 3 bedrooms each with double bed. It will sleep 6 but is more comfortable up to 4 people. The nightly price is based on up to 3 sharing, for additional guests there is an additional fee calculated on reserving.
You enter the house through its pink door into the ground floor kitchen.
This has a gas cooker and a 1950s red fridge and a table and chairs for 4/5, as well as all the basic pots pans and plates for cooking.
Up the stairs to the 1st floor, there is a bathroom and 2 double bedrooms, decorated with vintage finds.
Up to the 3rd floor, there is a bathroom, and a door that exits to the lower terrace. There you will find the 3rd bedroom and the salon. They are both beautifully bright and airy.
There is a small seating area on the terrace perfect for a quiet read. The salon has traditional Moroccan banquette seating, made with vintage 60s fabric from Heals.
Up one more little flight to the top terrace, this also has banquette seating. Its a private spot with a view of the neighbouring roofs. Just the blue sky and the birds flying overhead, bring your breakfast or your evening cocktail up here, or spend the whole day relaxing and sunbathing.
Guests have exclusive use of the entire house.
There is an information folder in the house to recommend restaurants, pools, shopping etc.
I am on hand via phone or email at all times. My house guardian is there to assist guests personally.
The house is in a typical Moroccan street of traditional family houses with kids playing and people coming and going about their daily business. It is in a safe part of the medina.
The medina is pedestrianised. It's small enough to walk everywhere. There are small taxis at the main gates of the medina to go further afield.
Its 3 minutes from the house to the main square and port, and the start of the beach. Walk 20 minutes along the beautiful beach for great lunch cafes. Shops and markets are very close to the house.
The street leading to the house is uneven and can be badly lit and dark at night. A torch is a good idea when going out for the evenings. I use the one on my phone so I always have it handy.
Because of the traditional area the house is in both electricity and water can be a little limited. Please turn off lights when not using them, and limit appliances plugged in at one time and there will be no problems.
The house now has wifi.
There is a pressing very close by for your laundry.
If you would like breakfasts or traditional Moroccan dinners made for you at the house please just ask for prices, Khadija the femme de ménage will be happy to make them for you!
Khadija will come every morning during your stay to make sure the house is kept clean and tidy for you.
Please ask any questions before your stay, we will always try to help you with whatever you need.
The whole house, exclusively.

If I have a booking following check out is 12am and the cleaner will arrive at 10 am to start the big house clean. Check in if I have another booking is 2pm.Thanks for understanding this.
