Imagine a charming guesthouse (also possible to rent as a whole house from February 2017 with owner and dachshunds living in annexe on property) only 40 minutes by car from Dublin, yet utterly pastoral and romantic, in the heart of the beautiful Garden County and within a few minutes of great walking in famous Glendalough! Unwind in this charming and peaceful home and let your hostess spoil you with delicious breakfasts....or if you prefer, you can have the house to yourselves!
My space is cosy and imaginatively decorated with feminine colour schemes and homely touches. There is a lovely family-friendly room with comfy double bed (orthopaedic mattress) and comfy bed sofa which can be used for a child or for an adult. However, the room works equally well as a romantic space. There is another really lovely double (master bedroom) with sizeable marble en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There are two other pretty rooms with queen-size single beds. All rooms are ensuite. I think my listing is unique because of the wealth of horse riding and walking opportunities in the locality of Ashford. Apart from wonderful Glendalough a few minutes away by car, there's also the stunning Brittas Bay beach only half an hour away by car. Ashford itself is a charming and friendly village which boasts the famous Mount Usher Gardens, inspired by the great English Romantic gardens of 100 years ago. Special features of my space are the fact that I can do lovely afternoon teas in the drawing room as I am an artisan baker. I can also give baking classes for those who are especially keen to learn to bake. The maximum my space fits would be 7 people (3 in the family double room) 1 adult per two single rooms with queensize bed and 2 adults in the master bedroom. I also have two handy travel cots for babies.
There is a lovely drawing-room to relax and unwind. There's also a great kitchen, but a word of warning for those who don't like dogs, as I have two mini dachshunds! From February 2017 it will be possible to rent the whole house, although I would alert guests to the fact that I will be living on the premises in a little annexe with my dogs. I am hoping to be able to combine best of both worlds by either catering for guests if they would like or else leaving them to enjoy their privacy in my lovely home.

I am a friendly and helpful person and I would really like guests to know that they can rely on me to help them enjoy their stay in my beautiful corner of the world. I stay in the house and do my baking. However, from February 2017 forward I would like to offer guests the option for whole house renting if they prefer that. Bearing in mind I will living in an annexe on the premises.

The garden is very beautiful, although there is still plenty of work to be done in order to complete the garden design! My artistic landscape designer is hoping in time to do a lot more planting, and meantime, tea or sparkling wine on the lavender scented terrace proves very popular in the summer time particularly!!
I would like guests to feel at home in my house. There is a nice relaxed ambience and the only thing I would request is that muddy boots are not dragged upstairs or into the drawing room. Please do not put suitcases or rucksacks on the bed as apparently it encourages bed bugs and I am super vigilant in trying to avoid those little pesky things for obvious reasons!!xx Also, smokers are requested to smoke outside and not in the room. There is a scented lavender terrace which smokers will love, also a covered patio with bench for rainy days. Small pets are welcome, but not big dogs as they are too initimidating for my little daxxies. Families with small children are most welcome on short stays and provided that the children know how to behave and respect my beautiful house. My house is unsuitable for long stays with small children. Breakages which occur will be taken from the deposit and if there are extra costs for damage incurred, the guests responsible will have to cover those as well. Guests may use the laundry facilities but there is a small charge of €10 per load to cover expenses. There is an honesty bar with an option for guests to leave money to cover their drinks.
I am a friendly and sociable person with a happy outlook and a good sense of humour. I really love my family and my animals and I also have a great network of friends from all walks of life. One of my favourite movies is Mrs. Doubtfire with the late great Robin Williams. So many favourite books, hard to list them. The last great novel I read was Rebecca Miller's fascinating story of an 18th century Jewish pedlar who was reincarnated as a fly. Favourite music includes fabulous Amy Winehouse, Imelda May, Kodaline, Otis Redding, Lou Reed. I love all kinds of food, although I end up eating fish and salad most days. My life's motto is Carpe Diem and I hope I try to live up to that motto, appreciating all that life can offer.
