Fiorenza and her husband Ciro, her daughter Alessia with husband Francesco gave us a very warm welcome to the apartment. A bottle of local Prosecco with almonds as aperitif, self-made cookies by Alessia and the fridge had basic supplies including a really good self-made mandarin marmalade.
During our stay they came along to see if everything was alright, gave water to the flowers and brought a bottle of self-made Rosé. They were available to give us the best tips to visit in the region.
The apartment is perfect for couples ( there is a double bed in the upper floor with a WC), but you can also bring kids ( there is an additional small sleeping room next to the kitchen).
The apartment is decorated and equipped with lots of love. The kitchen has everything from a toaster, over to cutlery for the barbecue in the back yard.
You can also find chairs for the beach, sun shades, goggles etc. Every morning we had breakfast in the sun on the terrace , with view of the sea and volcano Mount Etna.
End April / begin May when we were there it can still be cold and very windy, the best place to be at is the back yard and do a BBQ.
Fiorenza´s apartment is located first row at the beach, just a small street is between her house and the beach. Fiorenza´s brother lives in the second part of the building.
The beach is sandy, sometimes there are algae in the water, but it did not hold us back from an early morning swim.
There is a small beach bar and a restaurant about 100 m away, nothing high end, but perfect for a relaxed sun downer.
Agnone Bani is really quiet during the week, but in the weekend and on public holidays there were a lot of local families coming to the beach to spend the day.
Parking is then tough. A car is required for this place, the closest supermarket is in Lentini ( 10 km), we did day trips to Siracusa, Catania, National Park Vendicari and Etna.
Very much recommend the place and Fiorenza and family are just lovely.
