We stayed for a week in Aug 2017. If you are looking for a place of total relaxation this is the right place for you.
We are a family of five, children ranging from 8-13yrs, and it was perfect for our needs. A spacious 3 bedroom apartment with everything you could need within the house. Comfortable beds, plenty of spare pillows and bedding. Top tip, take plenty of insect repellent for this time of year.
Facilities to cook, both indoor and outdoor, we ate outside at every meal as it was so lovely. There's an upstairs balcony for breakfast and the spacious, outdoor area, in a beautiful neighbourhood, makes for perfect evenings. The fridge freezer meant we were able to shop and keep some costs down too.
Walking down the street you see figs, grapes, pomegranates, olives growing but watch out for the prickly pears. Lizards running around the rocky areas were a lovely sight.
The beach is at the end of the street and the emerald green sea is perfect for swimming in. Mario let us borrow chairs and a beach umbrella, which made it all really easy to go down there. There was even a bucket and spade for the children. There's a cafe on the beach for icecreams, snacks and drinks. The outdoor shower meant we could come back at the end of the day and wash everything off. And having use of the washing machine really helped too.
There are enough restaurants, cafes within 3 streets to eat out in a different place each night and even a small supermarket that is 15mins walk away selling everything you'd need. We loved Bar Bolla, the seafood was amazing.
Driving in Sardinia is hair raising and scared me to death, so when we got to Mario's place meant I could relax without having to think about it. We'd also stayed in Tula. If we were to come again we'd do airport transfers, buses and taxis and we'd definitely book with Mario.
I'd also like to thank Mario for helping us out, we had to leave a day earlier than expected due to a family issue, and he made it stress free. Could not have asked for a better host. I only wish I spoke better Italian. Next time I will be fluent.
