"Fremantle's Haven": A cute Fremantle house perched high on the hill opposite a huge grassed reserve which has a swing and slide for the children. Upstairs bedroom at the back with ensuite bathroom has a large balcony with views over the Indian Ocean and Fremantle.
It is a pretty place with lots of room to spread out with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two sitting/lounge areas. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds. Third bedroom has a double bed. Back sitting room has a single day bed. Sleeps up to 7 people. Enjoy the character of Fremantle in this lovely house. The house has been operating as a well-loved short-term accommodation destination for 4 years. Make this cute house your home away from home in historic Fremantle.
It is a quintessential Fremantle house in one of the prettiest streets in Fremantle where most of the original 1890s houses are still intact and cherished by the locals. With a verandah at the front to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, plus a lush small back yard with fig tree, loquats and grape vines, there is plenty of room to relax. BBQ provided. Lounge area has 32 inch TV and DVD player. Large collection of DVDs to choose from.
Enjoy relaxed Fremantle living. Only a short walk to the Fremantle Markets, the World Heritage-listed Fremantle Prison, cafes, restaurants and shops of Fremantle. Close to the Fishing Boat Harbour with seafood retailers and restaurants. Buy local lobster (crayfish), king prawns, fish (try the barramundi caught in Western Australia's north-west), scallops, abalone, squid etc. to take home and cook yourself, or sit down and eat at Kailis's, Cicerellos, Sweet Lips or other seafood restaurants. There are also lovely cafes, restaurants and shops (including a butcher and fruit/vegetables and continental delicatessen delicacies) in Wray Avenue which is just a short walk or drive. South Terrace in South Fremantle is also very accessible with its shops/restaurants/cafes. And you will also enjoy the eclectic boutiques, shops, wine bars and restaurants in George Street, East Fremantle. All within a very short drive or walking distance.
Don't forget the beautiful Swan River which winds its way through Perth and meets the ocean at Fremantle Harbour. There is a walking path right along the river. Park at the bottom of East Street - which is the other end of Swanbourne Street- (you can also fish from the East Street jetty) and walk up the river towards East Fremantle so you can spend some time looking out for dolphins that come up the river from the ocean, or the iconic black swans that the river is named after. The Left Bank hotel / restaurant is a great place to stop for a drink or coffee and they serve great meals there too overlooking the river. It is the classic old two-storey house sitting on the river bank just east of the second traffic bridge over the river.
Just a bit further along the river is the Dome Cafe (built over the river on the old oyster beds). Another great value restaurant is Salt on the Beach at Port Beach in North Fremantle. It is located right on the beach so see if you can get an outdoor table next to the beachfront. There is also a classy restaurant called Bib and Tucker nearby at Leighton Beach, North Fremantle.
Guests will have the whole house and backyard to themselves. I do not live at the house, but live in the next street and am available 24/7 if needed for any reason. Parking for one car is free on the brick-paved driveway next to the house. More cars can easily park (for free) in the street or on the verge of the park across the road.

The house is close to the Fremantle Markets, "cappucino strip" of cafes and restaurants, and close to the World Heritage-listed Fremantle Prison which has a range of fascinating tours.
The house is in a family-friendly neighbourhood so is not a house for large parties with loud music. Small gatherings of family and friends are of course perfectly OK. Check in is at 2pm and check out is by 10am, unless you have contacted Tracy and made other arrangements prior to your stay. Smoking outdoors in the garden is perfectly OK, just not in the house please. Thank you.
