Private 100-year-old home in charming West Medford, walk to parks, restaurants, shops. Across the street from train tracks.
To see how to get places on train or bus, map your route starting from the West Medford Commuter Rail station (a 5-minute walk) on G****e Maps or the MBTA website.
(Note: Our house is across from the commuter rail tracks. Most guests find this charming, but we also provide earplugs and a white noise machine if you don't.)
This serene and peaceful suite is perfect for a couple, or parents and child. It features its own private bathroom with jacuzzi tub. A queen-sized bed sits in the main area, and there's a twin bed in the cute and cozy sleeping nook. A dining set, closet with hangers, bookshelves, mini-fridge, and dresser are all yours as well.
The first floor of the house is shared with your hosts. We do not have any other guest rooms.
Although the train tracks are across the street, our road is quiet, with little traffic.
The entire first floor is shared with the hosts. It includes a recently renovated eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room with 50-inch TV/DVD (with Netflix, Hulu, Starz, and Amazon Prime), half bath, and backyard with patio and garden. Guests can use the washer and dryer in the basement (ask first).
Общение с гостями
Our favorite guests are the ones who smile, say hello, and want to chat a little. But we are all pretty busy, too, so mostly we do our own thing. Once in a while, a board game or DVD can be fun!
Другие важные подробности
Reservations are only accepted from the person who will be staying here. Everyone who stays here must read English well enough to understand the house rules.
No overnight guests who are not included in the reservation (this protects both us AND you).
We prefer that guests check in between 3 and 9 PM, and check out before noon. But if you need a different time, ask, and we'll see if we can accommodate you.
Self-serve breakfast is included. We have all the usual basics: Eggs, bagels, fruit, cereal, yogurt, milk. Ask for coffee the night before, and I can set it to brew for whatever time you like!
We don't use any air fresheners (except natural ones as needed in the bathrooms), and do all our laundry with free/clear detergent.
Jasper the orange cat likes to keep you company, but don't pet him. He may scratch or bite if you do it "wrong," or for a second too long. Newbie the brown and white cat is gentle.
If you don't want the cats in your suite, just keep the door latched. I can also keep them out between the last guest and your arrival, if you're allergic.
We prefer guests who can speak English, so we can all communicate well. If anyone in your party doesn't speak English, please translate the below information for them:
What Guests Need to Know (a more complete list will be given to you when you arrive, but this is the most important stuff.)
Please check in between 12 noon and 9:00 PM, and let us know in advance so we can be here.
You can park on the street. Ask for a parking pass for your dashboard.
You can wear your shoes in the house. If they are very dirty or wet, leave them in the front hall.
Don’t let the cats out, or into the basement. The orange one, Jasper, likes to keep you company, but he may scratch or bite, so don’t pet him. The brown and white one is Newbie. He is very sweet.

Keep all windows and doors closed when the heat or air conditioning is on.
Do not place anything damp or wet on the wood furniture.
No scents: colognes, perfumes, etc., and no smoking, even outdoors.
Please keep the noise level low, especially after 9 pm (but you can come and go at any time).
Clean up after yourself, especially if you use the kitchen.
Don't raise the temperature on any thermostats. There are extra blankets in your cedar chest.
You can use the first floor too, including backyard and patio.

Your Third Floor Suite:

Do not use our towels to remove makeup or anything else that may stain. There are tissues and paper towels in the bathroom.

You can eat whatever you want for breakfast, as long as it doesn’t have someone’s name on it.
