A beautiful, quirky Victorian house situated on an ancient bridal path in a quintessential Devon village on Dartmoor. It is a large newly renovated basement room with one double bed, a small lounge area which has a very comfortable futon. It has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower. It has its own entrance so you can be completely independent. The house is down a tiny bridle path which makes it very quiet, yet only 200m from the village centre. Parking is in the village.
The property is situated down a beautiful ancient lane (bridle path) which has no passing traffic, so it's very quiet, but this means you need to park you car in the village. The village is about 200m from the property, it's a very short walk but the walk to the house is gorgeous and part of the charm. It will only take you 2/3 minutes. The space is a newly renovated basement room with an en-suite. It has a small lounge area with a comfortable futon. There is a large flat screen TV with Sky and a DVD player with a variety of DVD's to watch. In the room there are a selection of local books, guides, maps to read. There is a fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle, tea and coffee, plates, glasses, mugs, knives and forks in the room.
I always like to meet my guests in the village so I can show them to the room. If I'm not around when you arrive then I have put some photos on check in instructions to make it clearer. The house can be tricky to find although it is only 200m from the village centre! Please park in the village. You have your own separate entrance which makes this room very private and you are independent. Please be aware that there are a few steep steps down to the room, which some people could find difficult. You are welcome to make use of the garden and barbecue, there are some table and chairs on the patio which you can use.
Общение с гостями
I'm very happy to chat with my guests and if they want I can help with places to visit, eat and drink. Please don't hesitate to ask me. However, the room is independent from the house so when you come and go, and if I'm not in the kitchen, I may not always see you but please give the backdoor a hard knock. I'm also very aware of people needing their privacy.
Другие важные подробности
Because the lane to the house is very narrow, please park your car in the village and I will come and meet you or you can follow the photos on the check in details. There are no lights in the village (no light pollution) so it can be very dark, especially when there isn't a moon! So a torch would be useful, although I always have one that guests can borrow, however the benefit of this, are the night skies are incredible and you can often see shooting stars.
The cleave pub in the village (the only eating place in the evening) gets extremely busy, especially in summer, so if you want to eat there one evening while visiting, it's advisable to book a table in advance. If you message me beforehand I'd be happy to do this.
The Primrose tea rooms, in the village, isn't open Mondays and Tuesdays. All other days it's open at 10am for breakfast, lunches, cream teas.
Please can guests take off their shoes in the house.
