Close to everything, but a world away! The Yellow Cottage is a cozy, comfortable 3-bedroom/2-bath house with a spacious Florida Room and new kitchen & bathrooms, all nestled into a jungle-like setting that's been a movie set and an evocative site for weddings. Walk to everything! Tell stories around one of two campfires. Cook out on the grill, and dine on our picnic tables. Or just relax by the spring-like pool.
The Yellow Cottage is a world away—in the middle of everything.
The Yellow Cottage is near the geographic center of Miami-Dade, close to restaurants, shopping, the Metro, and a short trip to the beaches, Wynwood, Coral Gables, Dade's farm belt, the Everglades and the Keys. Borrow our bikes for a jaunt to Matheson Hammock, Biscayne Bay or Fairchild Garden, one of the world's most beautiful botanic gardens.
The Yellow Cottage is officially designated as historic. The Dade County Pine house was built in the 1920's, and has been carefully renovated in the past three years.
Enjoy the enchanting spring-like pool just across the bike/walking path. Borrow our bikes for a visit to Downtown Dadeland or local groceries or restaurants, all just blocks away. Relax in the hammock, or pick seasonal fruits and veggies from our raised beds and fruit tree terraces.

We love Miami, and we love to show it off! There's no city like it in the world, and it's truly much more than what the media portrays. If you'd like to explore the greatest immigrant city in the world, just ask! We'll show you to places you won't forget!

There's no smoking onsite, and we do have two friendly and well-behaved dogs. They like people very much, but when it comes to other dogs, they kind of feel like the own the place. So we don't allow pets at the cottage.
Some kittens have newly arrived as well. We know some guests may take a strong liking to them, but we do ask that you keep the screen door shut, and not invite the kittens inside. Thank you!
We're a quiet family, in a quiet family-oriented neighborhood. Quiet hours start at 11 pm.
There's no smoking in the yellow cottage.
We live in the subtropics, which means that insects and other little are plentiful! Please keep the doors closed to the cottage, keep your food and drink closed up tight, and take out food trash each day to the trash and recycling cans in the carport [the trash can is GREEN and the recycling is BLUE].
Just to be clear, you agree that the number of guests who are staying in the house is the same as the number that you have entered in the registration. If your plans change, and you require space for more guests, please let us know right away, and we will adjust your registration to account for the additional guests. Thanks!

Enid & Albert built the Green House with their three children. Enid is a dancer from Puerto Rico, and teaches dance at a high school in Allapattah. Albert runs SmallCo from the house, serving clients around the world with consulting and app design. His mom still lives right around the corner, in the house he grew up in.
"We built this house together, as a family. But I like to say that we didn't BUILD a house—we PLANTED one. And it's still growing..."
