Our home is situated high on the hillside above Punta Melones Beach, overlooking the bay to the east and the ocean to the south and west. The location of the house affords you the cooling breezes of the Caribbean and the views from sunrise to sunset.
As this is our family’s second home we have taken special care to make it very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The open floor plan of the inside as well as outside living spaces allows for true relaxation. As we are designers we have brought to the house wonderful original artwork and the quality of the furnishings is uncompromised.
Every room has a ceiling fan so you can sleep to the sound of the sea and awaken to the song of the birds. However, if you feel the need all the bedrooms are air conditioned for added comfort.
Our property manager will meet you at the house and give you a tour of the facility, pointing out the amenities and giving the guest any instruction necessary.

Travel to the island is either by ferry or airplane departing from the big island of Puerto Rico. Depending on the size of your party you will want to rent one or two vehicles. Even though Villa Raven's Nest is only one mile from town, it is a very steep incline up to the house.
- TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. ARRIVAL/CHECK IN: Representatives of the OWNER will meet GUEST at the house. The OWNER’s representative will then perform a walk-thru and give keys to the GUEST. GUEST shall have advised Owner previously of travel arrangements to Culebra, Puerto Rico. OWNER shall not be responsible for travel delays. Check in to the Property is at 4 PM and check out is at 9 AM.
2. CHECK IN/CHECK OUT - Check in time is 4 PM. Check out time is 9 AM. For early Check In or late Check Out, please contact Owner for authorization. CHECK IN LOCATION – The Owner’s representative will meet you at the house. Transportation to the Property is NOT provided by Owner. The representative will show you the house and deliver the keys to the Property.
3. RESPECT FOR PROPERTIES - Guests must treat the Property with respect. Please supervise children in the Property, at all times. Please prevent the soiling of furniture and linens with food and other staining substances, take care not to damage items in the property, hose or shower sand and mud off before entering the home or pool. Do not bring any portable stoves or grills inside the Units. The only cooking facility is the internal kitchen and the designated barbeque facilities external to Unit. NO SMOKING – Our rental property is non-smoking. If you smoke, please smoke outside the Property and please properly dispose of your "butts" to prevent littering and fires. In the event stray butts are found in the Property, a $100.00 charge will apply.
NO OPEN FLAMES – Do not burn candles on the Property. There is battery operated candles for your use.
NO PETS OR ANIMALS – We do not allow any pets or animals brought onto the property. In the event you bring pets or animals to the property you will be charged a minimum of $ 500.00, up to the cost of cleaning and repairing any damage.
CARE OF CHILDREN: Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the Property. The Guest hereby releases and forever holds Owner, his employees and agents, harmless for any and all damages suffered the guest, by any minor, invitee of the Guest, for reasons not directly attributable to Owner. This shall include but no be limited to any harm suffered while using the pool, slip and falls while on the Property, and particularly any damages suffered as a result of “child’s play” or rough hand play.
RESPONSIBILITY: The Owner, his employees and agents, shall bear NO responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury to any person or personal property during your rental. This includes losses, damage or injury due to acts of God, theft, utility outages, services rendered by others, or services involving transportation. The agent and the Owner of the property assume no responsibility for any additional expenses incurred due to any aforementioned occurrences or conditions.
MAID SERVICE – The Property does not have daily maid service. Additional cleaning services are available for a fee. Maid service must be scheduled prior to arrival.
COMMUNICATION – The Guest shall provide a mobile telephone number prior to arrival in the event Owner’s representative need to contact the Guest while in transit or during the stay.
PERSONAL INFORMATION – All personal information of the Guests shall be used only for internal business purposes. Owner’s representatives do not share personal information of the Guests.
SEPTIC SYSTEMS - Please help protect our septic and sewer systems and thus our environment by not putting any non-appropriate items in the toilets.
TURN OFF ELECTRICAL DEVICES - Please help conserve natural resources by turning off non-essential electrical devices such as air conditioners, fans, lights, etc. whenever you leave the property and at check out. There is a charge of $100 if an air conditioner is left on after Check Out.
CONSERVE WATER - Please protect our natural resources and conserve water. Water is a precious resource on Culebra. Our property has a rainwater cistern. If you do not conserve water you may run the cistern dry thus causing an uncomfortable circumstance to manage during your vacation.
PUBLIC UTILITIES AND OUTAGES OF OTHER SERVICES – The owners are not responsible for any Utility or service outage that occurs that is out of our control. This includes, but is not limited to electric, water, sewer, satellite TV, Internet service and any other service provided by a company, individual, supplier or entity of any kind outside our control.
ACTS OF NATURE- The Owners are not responsible for any act of nature that may affect your trip to or stay on Culebra including rain, clouds, wind, or any storm that may occur.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS - Culebra has a fragile electrical system. Please do not overload electrical outlets and please do not change items such as cords, appliances, power strips, and other electrical items from their "home" outlets. Please turn off all unneeded electrical devices, air conditioners, lights, etc. whenever you leave the Property to save natural resources.
DISPOSAL OF REFUSE - Please place all garbage in proper receptacles inside the Unit and all full garbage bags in the proper receptacles, provided by the Town of Culebra, at the bottom of the hill. Leaving partial bags of garbage inside garbage receptacles (NOT on the floor, tables, chairs, furniture, cabinets, counters, etc.) is acceptable.
KEYS - Please be sure to guard the keys to your property. There is a charge of $100 per key for lost keys.
POOL UMBRELLAS – Close umbrellas by the pool when you are not poolside. The wind can come up quite quickly and damage them. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE – The property has a maximum amount of 10 people allowed in the Unit. If you have people in excess of the maximum authorized amount in the property, we may, at our discretion and our discretion only, deem your rental null and void and ask you to leave the Unit with NO refund of payments made and an additional penalty may be charged. Without prior approval, there will at no time be a party / function allowed to take place on the Property.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY - Any damage to the property or items in the unit will be charged to the Guest at the cost of repair or replacement of the item plus a surcharge of 50% of the cost to cover overhead and intangibles. Any acts of vandalism will not be tolerated and will be charged to the guest and immediately reported to the appropriate authorities. Damage must be reported to us immediately after it occurs. If damage is not reported by a guest a charge equal to double the charge listed above will occur when the damage is discovered by our Staff.
FINES, FEES, ASSESSMENTS, ETC. (including dock fines) - Any fines, fees or assessments caused by a guest that are issued from Associations, Homeowner Associations, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Department of Natural Resources, Army Corp of Engineers, Puerto Rico Police, Puerto Rico Fire Department, or any other entity will be charged to the guest at the total of the fine, fee, or assessment plus a 50% service charge for overhead and intangibles.
DO NOT REMOVE ARTICLES IN PROPERTY - Please do not remove any articles from the unit including towels, washcloths, linens, appliances, dishware, silverware, electronics, furniture, etc. Any article missing from the property after check out will be charged to the guest at the cost of the item plus a 50% surcharge for overhead and intangibles. (There will be beach items provided: beach towels, cooler, beach chairs and beach bags).
REMOVE PERSONAL ARTICLES UPON CHECK OUT - Please make sure to remove all your personal articles when checking out. The Owners are not responsible for any articles left behind in a unit after check out. EXCESSIVE DIRTINESS CHARGE - Our regular housekeeping services include linens, floors, counters, bathrooms. If there is excessive dirtiness a charge of $100 will be applied. Please do your own dishes. During your stay please do not leave cloths, towels, and other personal items outside the Unit or hanging on railings or banisters. Please park cars only on designated driveways and parking areas.
CLOSE WINDOWS - Please close windows when not in the property and when you check out. Our tropical climate does at times create short 10 to 15 minute heavy rain. It may look like a clear sunny day when you leave the property for the day. However, during the day some parts of the island may experience a short rain shower.

We are grandparents to four boys, have two Irish horses, and an Australian Shepard. And love them all to death!
We love sailing and fishing, which we have plenty of opportunity to do as we are surrounded by ocean at home and on our wonderful Culebra Villa Raven's Nest.
