I repeatedly asked if there was anything they wanted or needed, always receiving a no answer.
With nights in the 59 to 65-degree range, we typically don’t put in the a/c unless asked. A want for A/C was not requested or discussed when I asked if anything was needed.
Nowhere on my Airbnb description did I communicate a vacation home for rent so I am not sure where that expectation comes from except for the marijuana grinder I found on the floor.
This is not New York where high security is a must. It is a very local community with an unlocked front entrance that can be wedge blocked open just like most hotels. When asked to keep the door close It was left closed in direct response to the guest not having control of their dog. We do not charge extra for a dog as they are usually more well mannered than allot of people.
It is clearly marked “no cooking allowed” over the stove and not advertised as an amenity because it is against the law to cook food here. Fire laws for wooden houses restrict cooking for transient guests so that food preparation space is not really an issue. there are 80 restaurants within walking distance so that it does not make sense to stay in and cook.
As far as musty towels go, I am wondering if a batch inadvertently lingered in the washer or dryer causing that unusual issue?
I really don’t understand why there were not requests or complaints when I repeatedly asked and these complaints are written after the fact when nothing can be remedied. Also, text requests are not always timely in Newport where the population triples in the short summer months. I advise all guests to call if there is a problem with anything.
