Headwaters Ranch Guest Cabin sits atop the coastal range of mountains in Santa Barbara, surrounded by the Los Padres Nat. Forest. It is in a riparian zone , surrounded by oak and pine trees, is very secluded and is a nature lovers delight!
Headwaters Ranch Guest Cabin is a very private place, and caters to those who wish to get away from it all. Although we are located less than 30 min. from the Santa Ynez Valley and downtown Santa Barbara, you will not know that they exist should you choose to just stay on the ranch. Our property is 120 acres, with miles of private hiking trails and roads. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands and coastal mountains abound.
Guests will have access to the large lawns that surround the cabin, miles of private hiking trails and roads. ( * all guests will be required to sign a liability wavier stating that they will take responsibility for their own safety while hiking on the ranch) They will have use of a gas B.B.Q. grill on the front deck, and lots of comfy chairs and benches to relax on while enjoying the sights and sounds of nature that dominate the area.

Our guest cabin is kept very clean and has a full kitchen, bathroom with tile shower, queen bed and futon ( sleeps two couples) and comfortable seating. You will not find a t.v. or internet here....We encourage immersing oneself in nature while visiting. Cell phone service is poor to nonexistent right at the cabin. We always offer the use of our land line in case of emergencies, and cell service can be obtained while hiking on the property.
Headwaters Ranch can get warm during summer. The cabin has fans to move air, but no air conditioning. In the winter, during heavy storm activity, the road in can actually close 100 yds from the cabin, and access in at that time may have to be on foot over a foot-bridge. This is fairly rare, and access by car has never been restricted for more than 12 hours or so in the 16 years that we have been here.
Headwaters Ranch is a secluded spot for those who are looking for peace and quiet. We do not allow loud partying or wild behavior. Occupancy of the cabin by paying guests does not entitle them to use the ranch as a venue for any kind of gathering. Guests are not allowed to " have guests " unless they have cleared that with us in advance. Smoking is not allowed in the cabin, but permissible in a designated area on the front porch. Sorry, but we do not allow dogs or other pets.
