This was my first time ever using airbnb, so I wasn't sure what to expect from the whole experience. Overall, I am happy and I will use airbnb again.
Seymour was very quick to respond to all of my questions. He was cheerful when he greeted us at the apartment and had drinks (beer and juice) and cookies waiting for us when we arrived.
The apartment was as described in the written description and pictures. The apartment is somewhat rustic and has a well-worn, lived-in feeling. If you are a couple looking for a romantic apartment in which to stay in Paris, this probably is not the best choice for you; if you are a family with young children (as we were), this apartment could be a good choice.
The location of the apartment is quite nice--you are within an easy walk of Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Rue Mouffetard, etc. (Tip: get gelato at Place de la Contrescarpe and then walk to the steps of the Pantheon for a nice view of the Eiffel Tower at sunset or after dark.) There are lots of restaurants nearby and several small grocery stores too. The apartment is easily served by Metro lines 10 (Cardinal Lemoine and Jussieu) and 7 (Jussieu)--both of these stops are about two blocks away. If you are driving in to Paris as we did, you can easily part at the underground garage PARIS SAEMES Maubert - Collège des Bernardins, 37, boulevard Saint-Germain 75005 PARIS. The garage elevator will take you up about just around the corner from the apartment. We prepaid and it cost about 135 euros for one week's worth of parking and the garage seemed safe and secure.
We were 3 adults and 3 children (ages 10, 9, and 6) and there was plenty of space for us. Our children slept in the kids room that had bunk-beds, a smaller child's bed, and toys. The beds were comfortable (including the fold-out sofa in the living room).
I must note that the wifi connection was annoying. Sometimes the connection was great--there was one night when my kids were watching minecraft videos, my wife was uploading photos to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), and I was streaming a baseball game all at the same time and we all had no problems. But there were other times when the connection was unstable and kept disconnecting me--and even other times when I couldn't connect at all. I'm not sure what the problem was as the connectivity problems affected all of our devices (laptop, kindles, Android phone, and iPhone). Hopefully this situation can be remedied for future guests.
Overall, we had a reasonably good experience with the apartment.
