Our mountain home is a great place for creating memories. We love the location with the multitude of activities and adventures available. The open and spacious floor plan of our home is warm and invites social interaction. We have enjoyed many gatherings with friends and family and have enjoyed opening up our home for others to create joyful memories as well. A plethora of activity lies ahead: hiking, skiing, biking, swimming, fishing, picnicking, wine tasting, gold country exploration and more.
One of the highlights of the area is its proximity to the bay area (3 hours) and central valley (1.5 hours). The drive is a gradual climb to 5200ft with easy access in summer and winter months.
Whatever adventure you are looking for, you are bound to find it here. The great outdoors awaits you. There are a variety of activities to fill up your soul, spark your imagination, connect to your intuition, and renew your spirit. From stargazing to rigorous hikes in the wilderness you will love what the area has to offer.
The winter provides both Nordic and Alpine skiing, snowshoeing, snow mobiling, sledding and good old fashion snowball fights. After the snow melts, the area comes to life again with its alpine lakes for fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. Take along a picnic and find a peaceful spot along the river to immerse in nature’s healing effects, or take a long hike to imbue yourself with nature's beauty. Whatever your pace, you will find it here.
After your day’s activities, come home to open and spacious living. Our cabin is multi-level with two outdoor decks, gas BBQ and an outdoor fire pit (great for spinning a thread around the campfire or engaging in a group choral). Whether you enjoy getting out in nature or staying closer to home, our cabin is a great place to relax, unwind or socialize. Our fully equipped kitchen is ideal for entertaining, with seating around the island, as this seems to be where everyone frequently gathers!
This multi- level, 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home sleeps 11 comfortably. Beds include 1 Queen and 1 Full Futon in Master bedroom, 1 Queen in guest room, 1 Full and 3 twins in second guest room. The wood burning stove creates warmth and ambiance for a cozy winter feel accompanied by central heating throughout. Pamper yourself with a hot soak in the big bathtub upstairs - picturesque window alongside (watch the snow silently fall in the winter – now that’s serenity!).
Guests will have full use of the house (exception - owner’s storage closet upstairs), local telephone, 2 decks, gas bbq grill, WIFI, garage with ping pong table, sleds, snow shoes, fishing poles, canoe and kayak (need arrangement with owners). Rustic fire pit for outdoor campfires. The kitchen is fully equiped with all the essentials of home from pots and pans to microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (with ice maker), expresso and coffee and gas stove. The kitchen is open to family room making it perfect for entertaining and socializing while cooking meals. The family room with cathedral ceilings, wood burning stove, games and flat screen TV (with NetFlix) makes for the perfect end to a day outdoors.
I live in the Bay Area and will interact via email, text or phone. I am available to assist with logistics, local attractions or any other questions you might have. If you would like to plan a retreat for up to 8 people I can bring in yoga, massage, drumming or art classes at an extra fee – with advance notice. I can interact as much or as little as you like. I can also help you with activities in the area. Feel free to ask questions, I hope to help make your stay a memorable one.
This quiet subdivision in Big Trees Village has easy access to rivers, lakes, ski resort, hiking, biking, Big Trees State Park, wine tasting, quaint gold rush towns and more. Big Trees Village is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood surrounded by pines, cedars, manzanita, mountain oak and is only a 3 hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area (and airports – Oakland, SFO and San Jose). Close to many wine tasting vineyards, Murphy's and Angels Camp.
You will want your own transportation to take full advantage of the areas beauty and multitude of activity. For canoe and kayak use, you will need sports racks for the top of the car and approval from the owners.
We have been enjoying our cabin for over 18 years creating heartfelt memories for family and friends. We have a book of favorite activities to share upon arrival! The house is stocked with games, puzzles and books for all ages. Once you explore the natural beauty of the area, you will surely want to return.
We respectfully request that shoes are left at the door to preserve our home - the sap sticks to everything and is hard on the floors.
No smoking (inside or outside)
For your safety - do not climb on railings.
Please keep all unnatural items out of the drainage system. Only toilet paper in toilets - we are on a septic system.
Please respect our home, leave it the same way you found it.
Well trained dogs are welcome, no cats (sorry, due to allergies). Please clean up after your pet and NO animals on the furniture (we love our dog Kona but she sleeps on the floor).

You may borrow our canoe or kayak for lakes only (requires roof rack and prior arrangement)
You may borrow our fishing poles.
Keep all garbage and food items indoors (or in garage) during your stay since we do have bears and raccoons.
Please take all your food with you, feel free to use the condiments in the kitchen.
Garbage - you are allowed one can of garbage and one can of recycling - anything more you will have to haul away. Please bag all trash and put it in the cans in the hut at the end of the driveway. Trash pickup day is Monday morning early so put garbage and recycling out Sunday night.
We are easy going, outdoor enthusiasts. We also enjoy the finer aspects of life including good wine, good food, great conversation, culture, and art.
