We stayed 8 days, our party included 5 adults and a baby. We had a very good time, and enjoyed sitting in the garden when the weather was good, and trips to Disneyland, Paris, Versailles and Fontainebleau. The surrounding area is lovely, lots of forest to walk, run and cycle in.
The swimming pool/outdoor area is fantastic, with a small baby pool and 25m pool, both well heated, and children's playground. But we were disappointed that access to this complex was restricted, and has been since February 2017. In essence we were able to get in by ourselves up to 11am, or we needed to ask Betty to accompany us. We only used the pool twice because of this, and because of poor weather towards the end of our trip. Betty was apologetic about this restriction, but I think she will need to change the way she describes her property if this rule change continues.
We also had problems with things that were broken or faulty, e.g. bathroom and exterior door locks, a broken high chair which we repaired ourselves. And Betty leaves a lot of her personal things in the house, including clothing in all the bedrooms, food in the fridge freezer and cupboards, toiletries in the bathroom, and one large unlocked cupboard upstairs was full of medicines, including prescription drugs, which would have worried me if we had had older children with us. It wasn't clear what items we could use or not. We did enjoy the pod coffee espresso machine though.
Betty is delightful, always answered her phone/texts, I speak/write good French, so communication was no problem. But she was at work when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and we didn't meet her until we had been in the house for 3 days. A lot of key information is provided by post-it notes written in French, e.g. how to use the washing machine, dryer, dish washer.
