Stay in a new townhouse situated two blocks from the ocean and the graceful Eastern Promenade in Portland's Munjoy Hill neighborhood. We have a private room for you with a queen-size bed and all the comforts of home, including two non-shedding goldendoodles who live to say hello to new people. You are our only guests, and we look forward to hosting you in the city we love.
Our home is a townhouse that was constructed in 2013. It is spacious and full of natural light. Cool breezes circulate all summer. It is located on a very quiet, tree-lined street and is right near a small playground and park. Two blocks away is the expansive Eastern Promenade, with ample walking trails, grassy space to laze about, and several athletic fields. At its base lies the East End Beach, which is a perfect place to go for a swim or to wander about at sunrise or sunset.
There is ample on-street parking immediately outside our door.
The room is on the second floor and is located at the opposite end from our bedroom. There is a full closet, ironing board, bookshelf, ceiling fan, radio and a very comfortable queen-size bed. It gets beautiful morning light but if you'd prefer to sleep in there are blackout curtains hanging to cover both windows.
Guests have their own half-bath and the shower is shared. The washer and dryer are next to the bathroom. We provide towels and also detergent in case you need to wash your clothes after an adventuresome day.
There is a kitchen and living room downstairs; please do not plan on cooking at our home but feel free to use the refrigerator to store whatever you like.
We are not a full-service bed and breakfast; we do not provide coffee or breakfast in the morning as the vast majority of our guests want to get out and taste all the delicious treats Portland has to offer each morning.
The dining table is wonderful for eating, completing work, and planning the day. There is also outdoor seating on our porch for you to watch the world go by from a nice height.
While you are here, our house is your house. Please let us know what will make your stay comfortable and we will try as best we can to provide it, especially if you let us know in advance.

We see ourselves as guides to help you get the most out of your stay, even if it is just for one night. Friends and family are visiting regularly, so we are well-versed in providing advice on what to do or see in and around Portland. We live here because we love the area and want you to see it for all that it has to offer. We can point you in the direction of whatever suites your fancy – a charming bar, a local lake for a swim or the best restaurants at any price point.
We are in and out of the house and both fairly busy so we are not really the type to intrude on your space or time. Nora and her daughter Lulu, our non-shedding goldendoodles, revel in being around visitors and may politely ask for some belly rubs. You are in no way obligated to spend time with them, but they can be difficult to resist. Overall, we want to be supportive in helping you get what you want out of your trip and provide you with a space to call home for the duration of your stay.
Другие важные подробности
Our dogs gets along with everyone really well but they do not really understand how to interact with very young children. For that reason we will not be able to accommodate travelers with young children at this time.
We live in a condominium. In order to respect our neighbors' wishes, we ask that our guests abide by the following rules:
- Guests will not smoke in or around our home.
- Guests will not make noise that might disturb our neighbors, particularly between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
- Guests will park on the street and exit and enter through the front door. This is to minimize the impact of our guests' stay on our community because the rear door connects to a shared parking space.
-Guests will not use the kitchen but may store items in our refrigerator.
In deference to our neighbor's concerns about insurance, we will ask that you sign a release indicating that they will not hold the association's insurance liable in the case of an accident. We understand that this aspect of your stay is atypical; If you would like to see a copy of the form beforehand or have any questions, please contact us.
Lastly, we highly recommend you bring your shoes into your room. Lulu, our youngest puppy, has a tendency to chew on items that are left out and we would hate for anything to happen to your property.
Greetings. Cecilia and I love living on Munjoy Hill. She is born and raised here while I came to Maine for college and never wanted to leave. I work at a local public school teaching world history. She is a designer at the art museum. We spend our free time shopping at local markets, walking our puppy and going on hikes in the countryside. The newest member of our family is Nora, a wonderfully loving hypoallergenic goldendoodle.
