This spacious historic house was once a cheese factory! Now it is a lovely four bedroom with two custom baths. Walking distance to a public beach, the Rideau Trail and the Cataraqui Trail and to all amenities. 16 minute drive to Frontenac Park where there are many hiking trails and cross-country skiing in the winter.
Note: NO TV or WIFI - there is wifi at the library just down the road
This house offers a relaxing space for time away from your busy life. The living room is bright and spacious. The entry still looks like a library, as I work at selling an accumulation of books and stone sculptures.
In the summer, this stone house remains cool if the windows are shut during the day. In the winter there is plenty of heat to keep you comfortable. There is now a small electric 'fireplace' in the living room.
There are 3 upstairs bedrooms, a bathroom with a soaker tub, and a large landing with a day bed in the upstairs. The main level has a kitchen, a living room open to the adjacent dining room, a bathroom with a shower and a large main entry with the library/store. The dining room has a door to stairs that go to the back yard.
My personal bedroom on the main level is the fourth bedroom, used only when there are more than 4-6 people and more beds are needed (double bed + 1 single bed).
The house is 2400 sq ft. There is a large fenced-in yard with outdoor seating and a fire pit. Outside the fence the property backs on to the creek. The presence of your well trained dog will be considered upon request.

Plan to bring food or shop just down the street.
There may be some staples such as oats, raisins, peanut butter and jam, coffee, salt and pepper, and sugar.
I expect guests to be respectful of the space and generally leave things the way they found them. Of course, cleaning and laundry after guests leave will be my responsibility.
I enjoy nature, running and swimming. I teach gym, knitting, sewing and woodworking at an independent Waldorf school. I also mentor adults in the Waldorf teacher training program.
I'm pretty low-key, so if you stay with me, we would have some conversations to know each other a little, and you would have as much personal space as you would like.
