Very beautiful Riad in the really heart of the Medina (despite the central location inside the Riad you find a really warm, quiet and relaxing atmosphere). We stayed in room 1 on the ground level which was really beautiful and cozy. Everything was clean and we enjoyed our stay, even though it was only for one night. What we really liked was the nice bathroom that is directly connected to the room, the modern heating which is attached at the wall and easy controllable by a remote control, as well as the delicious breakfast in the morning in the courtyard, just beside our room. It consisted of eggs, pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh mint tee and coffee, which was all served immediately on our table :-)
Mohamed took some time, printed a city map for us, showed us the way to the Riad, gave us some hints what to do and where to go in the old city (=Medina) and was really friendly. He also offered us to book a city guide for us, as there are many "false guides" in town. However we decided to explore the town on our own and get lost in the many small streets of the Medina and souks.
Mohamed also told us proudly that they were the leading Riad of currently 33 Riads listed on Tripadvisoir for Fès. We didn't check tripadvisor before, but we can definitely confirm the positive feedback.
The only disappointment we experienced: As proposed by Mohamed before our arrival we asked him to organize a cab driver to pick us up at the train station, which costed us 70 dirham (=7 Euro). At our departure we took a taxi at the Bab Bou Jelloud/porte bleue, just 300m from the Riad and we only paid 15 dirham (=1,50 Euro) to the train station, for the exact same distance. We don't want to complain a lot because 7 Euro is still cheap for a 10min-ride but however we felt kinda cheated on.
Beautiful riad, friendly host, safe neighborhood, perfect location, delicious breakfast, clean facilities, but Mohamed should maybe be a bit more honest concerning the taxi ride and organise a driver for the normal, not the tourist price ;-)
