Obviously, due to a very poor grasp of English, these guests chose to express falsehoods related to misconceptions(*) and misunderstandings.
(*)1.Information clearly expressed in the description of our Airbnb listing :" As a group, guests have EXCLUSIVE use of the three apartments on the first 2 floors of the building. The owners live on the two top floors." and "Owners reside on top floors of building. If requested, they gladly offer recommendations and help but are respectful of guests' privacy." 2. The air conditioning equipment was purchased, installed and inspected within the last year. Perhaps, ignorance on the part of the guests thwarted their efficient use of the machinery. 3 Three racks for drying laundry are easily visible in the apartments. 4. We have NEVER seen flies nor spiders in the entire building. 5. Emergency construction was minimal, two hours one day when guests were not in the apartments. 6.Given the global scope of our Airbnb guests, we limit kitchen supplies to basic needs. Toiletries, bath and bed linens are supplied in abundance.
It would have been wiser in light of dubious discomforts for these guests to have conversed with us, which we were readily available to do, rather than their leaving the premises a day early without checking out nor advising us of such! A face to face meeting, as we attempted, would have been in order. We are fluent in three languages.
Although a discounted rate was offered, it was obvious that our apartments are beyond their budgetary limits. We considered their behaviour rude, manipulative and unacceptable. We do not recommend accepting them within the Airbnb community.
