The cottage is situated about 8 miles outside Machynlleth. It has recently been completely renovated and has an inglenook fireplace and a new wood-burning stove. The cottage is fairly remote and is set on a hillside in a beautiful part of mid Wales. This makes it the perfect location for those who want a 'get away from it all' retreat. It is ideal for walkers, families and those who want to explore the stunning countryside. The nearest pub and local shop are about a mile and a half away.
The cottage is a well loved quirky home that offers comfortable accommodation. It is in an elevated position which means that access via a path is quite steep. For this reason I would recommend that the cottage is more suited to families with children over the age of 5. The elderly or those with restricted walking ability may find the steps up to the cottage a challenge. In the winter the lane can be a bit scary in the dark
The cottage has all the amenities of a family home with bed linen and towels provided. The back of the cottage has restricted access and is just a field. There is wi-fi in the cottage and a small monitor and dvd player. There is a small selection of dvds.

The cottage is your home for the duration of your stay without interruption from me. However, you can contact me at any time and I provide contact details of who to contact in an emergency.
Please note, I do not live nearby but have people on the ground who can assist if need be.

Wales is stunningly beautiful with lush green vegetation. However, that also means a fair amount of rain. It is always advisable to bring wellingtons, raincoats and warm clothing.
If you are bringing dogs, please keep them on a lead. Also, be mindful that Wales is sheep farming country and dogs worrying sheep may be shot, legally, by the farmer
I'm sure my guests would treat it with the same respect as they would their own homes
Although the cottage is fine for children and dogs, I would always remind guests of the following;
if you have a baby, I'd advise you to bring your own cot
there are open stairs,
the garden isn't suitable for football as it is mostly slate
the path to the cottage is steep so caution is the key as it gets slippy in the wet
this is sheep farming country so dogs must NOT be free to roam but kept on a leash
