GARBAGE Because of the problem with the bears in this area, we have had to stop the garbage service. Therefore, it is your responsibility to take the garbage to the Transfer and Recycle Center. It may take a few days before the housekeeper comes and your trash cannot stay in the house. The Center is located on Landfill Road, approximately 5 miles on Hwy #9 going toward Columbus, on the right. The Transfer and Recycle Center is closed on Sunday. Depending on the attendant, there may be a $7 charge. Do not leave garbage outside the house, it will invite the bears. There are no trash receptacles on this property, so do not put your trash in any of our outside bins. (Those are for yard trash only)
Please do not use the copper pots and pans. They are for decoration only. There are plenty of other pots and pans in the cabinet to use.
We are sorry, but because of past experiences, we have been forced to stop renting to families with children under 6 years of age and Only 2 children allowed in the group.
Certain breeds of well trained dogs will be considered for a $90. non-refundable fee, which will be added to the reservation, no exceptions. Clean up after your pet if he/she poops in the yard. Ed and I built this house 10yrs ago. After months of going there every weekend, working on it, we fell in love with the house and the quaint mountain town. We have made many family memories over the years and have loved this place. Ed and I are both business owners in Columbia. We have 3 children between the 2 of us. My daughter lives in nearby Hendersonville, NC and works as a nurse. Her favorite place is still on the front porch of "Our Place"
Ed and I love to ride our motorcycle thru the mountains, sit by the fire on cold winter days and love on our dogs.
