The apartment is located on the third floor of an historical building in Campo San Maurizio, a sunny and wide square situated just a short walk from the S.Mark's Square. The flat reflects in some way my interests for History and Art and is decorated with many antiques objects, sculptures and paintings that recreate an original atmosphere. The flat also has a private storage situated on the ground floor where to drop your luggage off after checking-out ... to enjoy even the last hours in Venice!
The apartment is situated on the third floor of an historical four-storey building that faces the wide Campo San Maurizio. Ideally located right in the heart of Venice, the flat is just a short walk from the nearby water bus stop and the major sights of the city, such as the renowned S.Mark's Square. It stretches over an area of 60 square meter and includes five distinct areas: a living room, the adjacent kitchen, a bedroom, a relaxing room and the bathroom.
While furnishing the flat, I tried to reflect my philosophy of life and interests in its decoration too. Humanistic education has made me particularly sensitive to History and Classical art and this is one of the reasons why the flat has been embellished with numerous and prestigious statues, paintings and decorative elements that I bought during my lifetime travelling around Italy.
The cream-coloured classic style kitchen has lot of storage space and is fully equipped with all appliances as well as kitchen tools and gadgets necessary to cook Italian dishes and savour wine. The black stone countertop and four stools separate the area from the small balcony that faces the square. Four eighteenth-century copper engraving, representing four christian Saints, are placed on the opposite wall while eleven precious multi-coloured crystal glasses from Murano island complete the furnishing.
The kitchen gives access to the cosy living room which has been decorated by mixing classical/traditional Venetian style pieces of furniture with some modern elements. The results are, for instance, the unusual combination between a eighteenth-century frame and the 40" flat-screen television that hides behind it; a round table which seats four and its classy plastic chairs by Kartell; or the classical paintings placed next to contemporary works. The lighting is warm and diffused by a black Murano glass chandelier and other smaller table lamps.
A corridor, lighted by a couple of spotlights alternated with precious red and gold hanging fabrics, leads to the other rooms. Firstly, on the right, to the bedroom. Here, a double bed with fabric headboard, a small tea table, paintings, a low relief and a pair of golden leaf candlesticks decorate the room. Finally, a roomy wardrobe with precious and original Murano glass handles contains the iron an ironing board.
Straight ahead, at the end of the corridor, there is the relaxing/reading area which is dominated by a white Carrara marble bust. On the left, the bright bathroom is equipped with shower and hairdryer. Once again a black Murano glass chandelier lights the space.
The flat also has a private storage situated on the ground floor where to drop your luggage off after checking-out ... to enjoy even the last hours in Venice!

Ciao! I am Paride, welcome to my house ;) I live in Como, an Italian town situated in the Northern Italy between the Alps and the lake of Como.
I love Art in all its forms, reading and travelling - above all around Italy and Europe. Amateur photographer and good cooker too... I mean... this is what my friends say :P Next goal: find a small rowing boat to enjoy Venice from a very different perspective!
As soon as I have some days off, I like to spend my holidays in my house in Venice which is the city that I probably like the most. Enjoying a private Opera in a noble palace, classic music concerts in a former church or sipping a glass of wine on the Grand Canal's banks is something unique! Get in touch to know more about me and my place :P
