As a host, I am extremely flexible and caring. Although I have a 4pm check in time, I go with the flow because many flights come in at all hours. Tavo's flight arrived at JFK around 11 pm. He arrived at my place at 1:30am. His confirmed reservation was for one person only. He not only arrived with a second person but had 2 more people on their way (a total of 4 people). And all this is happening in the middle of the night! And he was upset with me because the second bed wasn't ready but his confirmation was one person/one bed. So he changed his mind about staying and was going to stay in a hotel. The next morning I realized he was in the apartment and he said he decided to stay after all with just himself and one other person. I said if he wanted to have all 4 people, it would be fine with me and I would make up the second bed and put out more towels, etc. But he said no to that.
Then he said he would be checking out on his original check out date between 1pm and 2pm for a 4pm train to Washington. I said that was fine. At some point, he left notifying me by text after the fact. This was upsetting to me because he never communicated to me that he had changed his check out time. I like to be there when guests check out so I can lock the door. This is my living space and it is very inconsiderate to leave the door open.
Also his review is weird because the space is definitely an entire New York City apartment with a private entrance, a kitchen, a large private bathroom, and a bedroom/living room.
