It's my first time to book via AirBnB and I am glad I booked this suite on a cliff. I was looking forward to a quiet, peaceful and complete relaxation for Holy Week. Andrea's place did not disappoint, the beauty of the place - the house itself, from the art pieces, to the meticulously chosen furniture, and the spectacular view - all provided the respite that my family and I needed. The owners said that they are just new to the resort/bnb business, but I personally appreciated the little personal touches that they made (personal note, complimentary wine, welcome drinks) and it was easy to talk to the caretakers at the place for anything we needed. Only breakfast is included but we enjoyed cooking our meals. Nothing beats the experience of preparing your own food at any time you wish to eat, not dictated by opening / closing / serving hours of restaurants. My family and I also love fresh seafood - and we bought our fish, squid and shrimps from local fishermen. It's good! The long tables are nice for sharing stories over meals and beer, too!
The place is clean, although the bathroom drain seems to clog easily. Everyday the dipping pool is also cleaned.
If I were to describe the place in one word, it would be ambiance. I like that nature is incorporated into how the house was built. The view on the cliff is just amazing...you have a perfect view of the sunrise, the still ocean at mid-day, and the greens of the mountains at the back highlighted at sunset. I was so happy to read my book while sipping cocktails by the pool. And take a nap at the same spot whenever I wanted. On our last day, our breakfast was setup at the deck just below the suite, and it was really nice - the view of the dock and the shade of the trees added flavor.
Although, it's summer when we stayed, the mountain breeze can get quite cold from late afternoon until early evening. So a heater for the pool would be great, this way guests could still opt for a quick dip at night. Nothing stopped my son from swimming though, and I think he enjoyed the pool the most.
The nearby beach is not really for swimming. Although the waters are clear, the beach bed is rocky and filled with seaweeds/ plants. There isn't a lot of sand to lounge / rest too. So we just walked a bit to see for ourselves and then went back to the house after a few minutes.
Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely come back again.
