Whole home to yourself. 3 bedrooms 2 full baths.
Inviting, Clean, Comfortable, Conveniently Located to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Biltmore, Asheville, Saluda, Tryon and Hendersonville. Spacious w/ new lighting, new blinds, new beds.
THIS IS A 1954 RANCH HOME, NOT THE TAJ MAHAL! Hence the price. PERSONS WHO CHOOSE THIS HOME SHOULD BE COOL, LAID BACK, AND ADVENTUROUS. IT IS NOT FOR PERSNICKETY NITPICKERS. IF THAT IS YOU I SUGGEST A HOTEL. I AM AN ARTIST FOR PETES SAKE!
Stay in our welcoming home in Columbus North Carolina. There are walk in closets in two of the bedrooms. Beds are new and super comfy.
There is a brand new flat screen smart tv with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths
The two smaller bed rooms are joined by a bathroom with a shower in it and also have a separate entrance. 8 people can stay comfortably on
one King bed in the master bedroom;
two queen beds in the large bedroom; and,
one queen bed in the small bedroom.
We have a lovely full kithen and a large comfortable living room and dining area.
Vanderbilt's Summer Home - Biltmore is about a half an hour up the road and is worth investing two days in exploring. Tour the main house, then the winery. Rent horses and go on a trail ride over the amazing 8,000 acre estate or bike through it. When you get tired, stop on the way home at Saluda's Purple Onion and enjoy a fantastic dinner either inside or out under the canopy. The next day plan a full day to explore Lake Lure (where they filmed Dirty Dancing) with its beautiful beach; lay out and work on your tan and let the kids splash around. Cocktail and dine at one of the local restaurants. Spend the next day at Chimney Rock State Park shopping at all of the really cool eclectic little shops and travel to the top of Chimney Rock for a great adventure. Take a hike with a tour guide out to the waterfall and work up an appetite for your dinner in Tryon at The Brick Pizzaria and Cafe. Great food and atmosphere. If you have more time the Town of Hendersonville is a great place to shop with so many great little shops and places to eat. And I haven't even talked about Asheville. Super fun, eclectic shops and eateries and antique stores and if you love art, shopping, food and fun (like I do) you will be in heaven. It takes about two weeks to really get acquainted with all the great things in this area. Once you do you'll want to move here.
Guests have access to everything in the house but not other buildings on the property.
If you are snobby, or terrified of bugs or think dirt will kill you do not come here please. We are on 2 acres of woods. There is dirt, there are bugs (house is pest free and area is treated around house by local pest control company) and if I have my way there will be horses and a pool and they won't be perfect either. So, either get a hotel and separate rooms for everyone which is a small fortune or get one house for everyone for the same price you would pay for one hotel room and deal with the imperfections. Don't expect a refund because my property didn't meet your ridiculous expectations. The price is low to reflect the value and I think it is super low based on the quality of the product/service provided. Oddly, I have no such issue here in Ohio. Where I have literally hundreds of excellent references for our home which is in the exact same kind of shape as the house in Columbus, NC. well, actually that house is in better shape.

Phone and text only because I'm not there.
Since I am not there it is difficult to understand when folks are having issues. Please provide photographs, videos or recordings that will help me grasp any problems. I am very into tech and will quickly be able to assess and solve any problems if I am able to determine exactly what they are. I have a friend nearby who helps with the place. If something is not cleaned or there is any kind of issue with the linens or tp or whatever she will show up and fix that issue within a few hours so there is no reason to abandon ship. Most folks love our house.

This is a Ranch style home with one modified bathroom that is handicapped accessible; this house would be fine for a handicapped person except for the three stairs at the back door. They would have to have help getting up and down those but once inside... No problem. There is another full bath but it has an old shower; clean and works great but not attractive. It does have a new vanity and a new toilet and cabinet already.
Well behaved pets are welcome. Smokers can smoke outside.
If I am not here, Time Share Cleaning Rules apply. I do expect my guests to be sure to strip the beds, wipe down soiled surfaces, clean up spills, do your own dishes, clean out the fridge, wipe down the bathroom and take out the garbage before you leave. :)
Garbage needs to be left down on the curb beside the mailbox in a plastic bag tied at the top so animals won't try to get it everywhere. The dryer is now in the garage and I will be having the washer installed there later this summer in order to make room for the remodel of the bath later this year.
Just use the Golden Rule and you'll be fine. Non smoking house.
if you smoke, smoke outside. don't throw butts on ground. We smoke but we never litter.
If i am not here when you stay, Time Share Rules apply. You are expected to leave the house in clean condition; with surfaces wiped down, wash, dry and put cleaned linens back on beds, towels folded and returned to the closet, messes cleaned up; bathrooms wiped down, make sure you throw out any food you don't want to keep and don't leave messes in fridge or pantry! Sheets and dirty linens go into the washer on hot and extra large with one cup of laundry detergent. Do not put the bedspeads in the laundry. I have those cleaned separately. Basically, treat it like your own home and put things back where they belong and clean up after yourselves.
If there is a problem with any equipment please notify me immediately so I can attend to it and get it fixed or replaced for you. PLEASE PUT GARBAGE in garbage bags and leave them down at the bottom of the driveway by the mailbox on your way out. :)

Hi my name is Anitra Handley-Boyt and my husband Rodney and I live in this great side by side home. We are both artists, as is my mother and our son, Adam. I have a political science degree from Northern Illinois University and a Law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. I am currently running the gallery and our home. I worked for 30 years in the restaurant business and am a pretty decent cook as well.
