I've been told my house has "good bones"- an appropriate description of Weehawken homes built in the early 1900's. It has an open, airy feel with a lovely flow of energy. Feng shui principles were employed to create a cozy and inviting environment. All the ceilings are 9 and a half feet high and the mouldings are original as are the solid oak floors running throughout. The dining room ceiling is original tin - you can still find it in some of the old bars in Manhattan! You can hear birds chirping in the morning and a pin drop at night! It is a child friendly place and families are more than welcome to stay here. There are two bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment, one with bunk beds and one with a full sized bed. I supply plenty of blankets, linens and towels for your comfort There is a dining room in addition to the spacious kitchen and a living room with space enough to sleep more guests if necessary.
The apartment is equipped with WIFI, Smart Tv, FREE Netflix movies, YouTube, Hulu and more! Please make use of the full service kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, etc.....The there is a deli directly across the street for milk and juice, as well as other household items you may have forgotten.
Weehawken Heights is a 10 minute bus ride away from Manhattan's Time Square! but the area itself is quite suburban in its feel. (The bus costs $3.25 and discount tickets can be purchased in advance!) This property is nestled among several dead end streets where traffic is minimal and quiet is the norm. In terms of dining and food, Weehawken is home to Turkish, Indian, Italian, and Thai Cuisine. All quite tasty and within a mile of the house. Guests can use the Public Library and there is a large shopping mall for groceries, post office, haircuts, etc.
Walk 4 short blocks to the end of the main road and there is a Community Lines bus waiting for you to take you to The City. No need to look at a schedule - a bus comes literally every 2 minutes! Once you stay in Weehawken, you'll be spoiled by the commute! If you prefer the more scenic route, just hop on the Ferry Shuttle (every 30min. during peak hours) and in 5 minutes you will be at The Wehawken Ferry Terminal. The boat will get you across to Manhattan's West Side in a few minutes!
The apartment is equipped with wireless internet, Smart TV, Netflix, Hulu, and more! Full service kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, etc. plenty of fresh linens and towels as well as bathroom essentials! Convenient deli / convenience store directly across the street!

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and have worked in Manhattan for all of my adult life. I finished a 4 year apprenticeship with The United Carpenters and Joiners of Manhattan before graduating from the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in 1994. In 2001 I had the adventure of a lifetime working as a pipe insulator on Alaska's North Slope.
Working in Manhattan and living in Weehawken has given myself and my son the best of both worlds. I grew up in this quaint little town with the Manhattan skyline in my backyard and know that you will love it, too! I pay careful attention to the flow of energy and the colors and textures in my home and hope that you have a similar appreciation for a more natural environment. The city is the world's greatest playground and there is so much one can do or see - each year, each day, each minute, is never the same!
