We call this place the Eyrie not so much in honor of J.R.R. Martin's wonderful castle of same name, as we can't claim a guarded by knights entrance, but we are high on a mountain with truly incredible, vast views of valley below and mountains beyond.
Up on a mountainside with world-class scenery, looking out over the newly created Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. Colorful, well lit home with three bedrooms and two full baths on 4 acres. Quiet and private, on dead end road. Only 12 minutes to downtown Taos and 35 to Taos Ski Valley.
Direct TV with NFL Direct in season, fully stocked kitchen, lots of DVD's (including kid's), expresso machine, wireless internet, elk occasionally visiting (harmless - but don't feed them!), fruit from the orchard if visiting in July, August or September, sweeping vistas of Sangre de Cristo mountains right behind house and up the valley.

Eating at the table on the flagstone porch, with a fire burning, looking dozens of miles into Colorado, up the Rio Grande, is not to be missed while you're here.
Enjoy your stay is the first rule. The only one. Except for not feeding the elk (just kidding, they run when they see you and depending on the time of year and their mood, you might not even see them).
There is a $90 cleaning fee per rental. For longer stays, a cleaning service is available if so wished, for additional cost.
My wife and I (Perihan) would like to stay two nights with our two very well behaved boys (well, at least when we're traveling!), Aydin (12) and Koray (9).
