The apartment is 40m2, with one bedroom, a full bathroom and a cosy living area. At the 5th floor of a 50's building, it overlooks a flowery courtyard. It's quiet and full of light with a glass wall inside. It's just perfect for a couple!
Ménimontant is getting more and more trendy, and you can find really nice bars and restaurants close by the apartment. Lucky you! It will be a real parisian experience, different than the classic touristic places and a bit cheaper too ;)
To name few places I like, "Demain c'est loin" (rue Julien Lacroix), "Lou Pascalou", "La cale sèche" (rue Panoyaux), "Cô My Cantine" (rue de Ménilmontant, vietnamese food), "Le soleil" (Boulevard de Ménilmontant, for a coffee or a mint tea). More bars/restaurants can be found rue Sorbier or Boulevard de Ménilmontant towards Père Lachaise. And then, there is the hot spot of rue Oberkampf where you will always find the place with the atmosphere you like! Moreover, the neighbourhood is full of concert places (La Bellevilloise, La Maroquinerie, Le studio de l'Ermitage...).
To relax or take a walk, you can go to Parc de Belleville (nice view of Paris from the top!), Buttes de Chaumont, Père Lachaise cemetery or canal Saint-Martin which are not too far from the apartment.
You want to see a movie? I like to go to MK2 Gambetta where you can walk from the apartment. Or MK2 Quai de Seine/Loire at Jean Jaurès (Line 2).
Finally, shops for your daily life (bakery, supermarket, pharmacy, delicatessen,...) are easy to find rue Ménilmontant. There are a lot of North African places around in case you can't resist to delicious pastries!
For food markets, they are on Boulevard de Ménilmontant on Tuesdays/Fridays, on rue des Pyrénées on Thursdays/Sundays and on rue Belgrand on Wednesdays/Saturdays.
The apartment is well located with the subway stop Ménilmontant (Line 2) or the bus stop Belleville-Ménilmontant (96) 5min from it. You can find subway Line 11 (Belleville - 10min walking) or Line 3 (Père Lachaise - 7min walking) close by. There are also several Vélib' stations (Ménilmontant, Etienne Dollet, Père Lachaise, Couronnes) near the apartment in case you want to discover Paris by bike. In any case, whatever you choose, subway, bus or bike will lead you to the very center of Paris in 15min!
No smoking. No pets. Respect the neighbours (especially by avoiding walking with heels!). But overall, make yourself home!
I'm Marion. I love traveling around the world, see other cultures and meet different people. I had the chance to live abroad in San Francisco, for 3 years and half, where I met a lot of good friends. I'm now back in Paris and I'm pleased to propose my apartment to travellers curious to discover Paris differently.
