My friend and I truly were impressed by our stay. Know that this is an actual established bed and breakfast called Lion's Head. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend staying at a B&B.
First off, I absolutely loved staying here over an overpriced hotel overrun with tourists in a super busy and over-populated area. If you turned right leaving Lion's Head, we were a short 15 minute walk from the falls, the Canadian boat tours, restaurants, and other attractions. If you go to the left, you should take your car to Niagara-On-the-Lake, a cute old town. Vineyards are also a dime a dozen. You can also visit (URL HIDDEN) to make an itinerary to visit all the wonderful stops nearby. If you are able and willing, I recommend walking or taking the bus as you have to pay to park nearly anywhere. Obviously parking is free at Lion's Head.
Back to Lion's Head--we were so impressed by the house; it's so clean and decorated in modern traditional. Before arriving, I wasn't sure of the bedding situation but I was relieved to see a stack of freshly washed and ironed bedding. It assured me that the bedsheets really were being changed!
The bathrooms are beautiful and modern with historical touches. The house was built with bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The builder was truly ahead of his time in 1910!
The beds were comfortable and weren't old and creaky which can be extremely bothersome when you just want a good night's rest.
As other reviewers have mentioned, she provides a two-course breakfast at 9:00am where you are seated with other guests. The first course usually consists of an embellished fruit, the second is either an egg-based dish or a crepe. It was delicious. Helena's culinary school background definitely shines through here.
We were so grateful for Helena's hospitality and definitely recommend you check this place out.
