American Family living locally for 10 yrs. We have a huge house in the Hist. Center of Cusco. Walk everywhere, get insider advice & do local things.

We have a large house in the Historical Center of Cusco. We have 5 big bedrooms. After 3 years of running a very popular airbnb we have decided to begin hosting big groups and families only. Our house can be chaotic, which big groups and families don’t mind. You share the house with us, a family of 7, and our tour company Haku Expeditions.

Big house....3 showers for guests and three toilets for guest. We have our own. Big kitchen for fun breakfasts and meal time. Cook if you like! Laundry facilities for a small charge.

We give breakfast, and love chatting over a cup of real Peruvian coffee. We have been told it is an amazing and great breakfast. You can decide when you get here.

We are a family not a hotel so things are run that way. If you arrive early, and many people do, we will offer you breakfast that first morning after your long journey.

By the way, if you have an early departure like 3am-7am, lets us know the night before, and we will leave something out for you to eat or to make and take. If you tell me way in advance I promise I will forget. I may be able to multitask like a queen (I being Nic) but I cannot remember it all, all the time.

Другие важные подробности

Most people are looking for the best experience in Cusco during their time here, we can help you accomplish that, we know the city, the best restaurants, the best day trips, the coolest bars, and how to arrange almost any trip on any budget. If you would like to do paragliding, 4 wheeling, the longest zip line in the world or one of the many awesome treks here in Cusco, hiking Salkantay, Ausangate, Choquequiroa, Inka trail, and Inca jungle, we can set it up. We have done it or know someone who has. (If you have not planned to have a few days or more in Cusco you will wish you did, so plan accordingly. There is lots to do in and around the Cusco area.)

Saturday is market day. We buy all our fresh food from the local non tourist market. If you want to come along feel free. Nic goes to the flea market early around 6am and then Bill goes to the farmers market around 8 or 9. There are loads of pics on the F B page. If we recommend anything, it is the Saturday farmers market. It only runs on Saturday and you will most likely be the only foreigner there. We still get emails saying how that market or our tour A Day in the Life was the best part of the trip.

We also ride some killer secret single track that we are more than happy to take experienced bikers on. We can also take you on our personal tour called A Day in the Life.... showing you Peru outside of the tourist spectrum. Our F B page has all kinds of pics of that tour and people who have done it. It is an all day experience and only runs on Sundays.

If you need a ride from the airport or bus station let us know, we can organize that for you, it costs 20 dollars, someone will drive there, wait, wait some more, hold a sign and even hold your hand if your scared, and then will get you to our house safe and sound without you having to haggle with the taxi drivers who love fresh tourists. However, if you find managing things like taxis in foreign counties no big deal take one here for 10-15 soles.

If you arrive before the 11:00 check in time and want to leave your bags here so that you can walk around the city feel free, OR if you are tired from the long journey you can crash on the couch while you wait for your room. Also, if you need a place to leave things while you go on some big trek or to Macchu Picchu for the night you can do that too.

As you can see from the pictures, we are a family. We have kids and we are very active. We are often hiking or biking or on some kind of adventure. When we are not out on an adventure we may be having a Bar-B-Q in the Sacred Valley that you can come to or just hanging out having a world famous Cuzquena beer or Pisco in the yard. Our kids are normal healthy kids, you may find them making a volcano in the yard, chasing our two chickens out of the house, jumping on your (URL HIDDEN) no no, I mean jumping on the couch, laughing, squealing from being tossed in the air or yes beating each other up and them crying about it. That’s the fun of a family. We love it and invite you in to be a part of our family for your stay and that’s exactly how you will be treated, like family or friends we have known for years.

Bill and Nic are great hosts - very flexible and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. We were pleased to stay in their home and use their expertise to book our trek and Amazon visit too.

I loved my stay at the Bill and Nic's house. As you can see in the description, it's a family home with kids, and if you have an open heart to include yourself in this lovely "mess", youll have quite an experience. The accommodations are simple, but comfortable. Nothing else you'll need in Cusco. Even the girls who work at the house are also very friendly and ready to help you. The location is good, they're only a few blocks walk to the Plaza Mayor, and very safe to walk even at night. I'm grateful for the hospitality, the understanding for my crazy schedule and I recommend to everyone who seeks a kind and warm hospitality in Cusco.

Our stay with Bill and Nic was very pleasant. They are an extremely friendly and welcoming couple, that have ample time for their guests. Their accommodating nature made us feel right at home from the moment we stepped through the door. They were helpful with giving us information and advice about the local area and suggestions for the best food and drink venues, all of which made our stay enjoyable. They were also very understanding and flexible. In our particular situation, I had fallen ill with altitude sickness and was unable to leave the apartment. Bill and Nic were lovely, and offered us a room for another night if we wanted. Very hospitable couple, very homely apartment. We would highly recommend this place.

Overall a good experience, I know Cusco well. positive points - warm building, running hot water which is gas powered. Rare find - quiet at night, relatively central, easy to get taxis - wealth of local knowledge, helpful people. - family atmosphere, 4 young children downsides - the immediate area has high pollution levels and is not the safest part of Cusco at night - wiring/plug sockets need investment - quality of matresses are low. - price point is a little high. Overall: A good option if staying with a family is your primary driver.

Bill and Nic were very welcoming and helpful They were there to meet us when we arrived at night and helped us with suggestions of where to go and what to do. They also organised a driver to take us around the Sacred Valley which was much appreciated. The accommodation was more basic than we expected from the photos in the bedroom and particularly in the common areas. The water for the shower was hot and we particularly appreciated being able to use the washing machine and drying space ;-) . Breakfast was laid out for us each morning which was nice and we could have used the kitchen to prepare and cook if we were there longer(URL HIDDEN) The location was good for us as it was an easy 15 min walk from into the heart of the town and quiet at night while we were there.

The room we stayed in was huge and the bathrooms/showers (although downstairs) were hot water and very welcome after the cold Cusco nights. The house itself is quite cold too. Bill was great and helped us organise a private sacred valley tour with a driver which was a highlight and they also let us store our luggage while we did the trek. All in all, it's a family home with rooms for guests and the breakfast was simple but tasty-fresh bread rolls daily were delicious!

We moved to Peru with the desire to help in a third world country. We were complete volunteers for seven years. We both worked in schools for the poor. We arrived with minimal Spanish and a one year old. I would have to say we have come a long way since then. Not only are we fluent in Spanish but Bill has picked up Quechua from the locals he worked with in Andahuaylillas. Although we spent most of our time helping the poor we also took out time to search out some of the best single track, sweet day hikes, good camping spots and do the big treks around here. We love adventure and family which is why we do lots of family adventures.

We are both from Buffalo, NY but moved to Durango Colorado after we got married. We now live in the city center of Cusco Peru, ten minutes walking to the Plaza de Armas. We have decided to offer travelers a nice, safe, and relaxed stay in our house during their time here. After hearing about Airbnb from a friend, we thought it would be great to offer some of our extra rooms to the traveler who tires of cheap hotels and rowdy hostels. You should feel free to have a nice, safe, and relaxed stay in our house during your time here. We know the area, have done the trips, and know the best ways to enjoy Cusco, and its wonders. Plus we can help you do some off the beaten path stuff if you'd like. You'll be happy you stayed with us. Families are welcome!
