Sunny, airy Modern 3-story townhouse on bike boulevard between Alberta & Mississippi restaurant & shopping hubs. Walk to 3 bus lines, bike share, ethnic cafes, organic food coop, library, post office. Convenient, quiet & private.
Our 3-story contemporary designer townhouse is ideally situated between the Alberta Arts District and the Mississippi Avenue bar and restaurant hub, on the North Williams bike boulevard 3 miles from downtown. The rental includes the private master bedroom, an office separated by a curtain that can be used as a bedroom, and an open kitchen/dining (1st floor) and living (2nd floor). Built in 2006, the five condo complex has been featured on an architecture tour and won a design award. The unit enters from a private walkway, shielded from traffic passers-by by the neighboring street-front unit. Because it features excellent solar orientation and natural ventilation, it is comfortable all-year around. Our spacious home is furnished with a combination of 50's vintage and contemporary furnishings, and large houseplants. In addition to the comfy master bed, we have a folding single futon in the office and a couch in the living room that can sleep additional guests.
Street parking is FREE and easy to find. We are within an easy walk to 3 bus lines, very convenient to downtown and fun neighborhoods.
Enjoy our stuff as long as you respect it: appliances, music, books, kitchen equipment, tools, etc.

During the school year, one of us works out of town. We come to Portland occasionally, staying in a 3rd floor bedroom not shown in the plans, so occasionally we need to SHARE the house- we would let you know before your arrival. Other times it is all yours.
If you like interaction, we are happy to chat and answer all your questions about Portland whether in person, phone or email.
Your master bedroom is very spacious and there is plenty if space for all in the rest of the house, so it is a good value. Our friendly neighbors keep an eye out for problems.

I'm an architecture professor interested in how designers think and how students learn. I've focused on how digital methods can open up creative possibilities, facilitate collaborations and improve decision-making. I like sharing what I love about design, University of Oregon, Portland and Eugene. I greatly enjoy travel and getting to know thoughtful people who share my interests (arts, bicycling, cooking, fiction). American-born, I've lived in Hong Kong, Rome, Melbourne, Shanghai and love to travel.
