Comfortable and clean bunk bed in "Friends", a shared hostel-style room, located in the historic Red Victorian Hotel on Haight street. The Sun Bunk is a top bunk.

The Red Victorian is an experimental community run hotel that offers unique guest experiences. While here, we invite you to attend events: lectures & talks, skill shares, music nights, art shows!

*Note: This listing is for a single top bunk- you may be sharing the room w/ others.*

Жилье
The "Friends" Hostel Room is a shared room with four bunk beds. This listing is for the Sun Bunk, which is a top bunk.

The room is located on the 2nd floor of the house, overlooking Haight Street. Lights for each bunk, power strips, and a sink are available in the room.

We have abundant bathroom access- you will have access to the 5 shared bathrooms of the house (1 in the 2nd floor + a restroom and 4 on the 3rd floor).

Some fun historical facts about the Red Victorian:
- We often hold events in the bottom floor of the house that guests can attend, like board game nights and lectures.
- We have had many resident artists and have even been tagged by the famous Banksy.
- Some of our residents have lived in SF for decades- they can give amazing history and recommendations.

Что доступно гостю
- Self check-in from 4pm onwards. Self check-out at 11am. If you arrive early, you can leave your bags in our guest storage area on the ground floor until check-in time.

- You will have access to your bedroom and all the shared spaces (main space, kitchen, lounge with sauna, shared bathrooms, and an office space).

- Like its people, the space changes frequently and offers surprises and secrets at every turn. We welcome you to explore and discover its various experiences (but please leave shared spaces better than you found them!).

Важная информация
This listing is for a single bed in a shared room, suitable for 1 traveler per booking - please see our other listing for private rooms.

Disclaimer: This is not a luxury resort. This is an experimental hostel for the fiercely independent traveler you are. All the charm of a 100-year old hotel on historic Haight street comes along with all the creaky floors, old plumbing, old windows, cold drafts, and other quirks/idiosyncrasies/surprises our community-led team works around the clock to barely keep on top of. If you want polished perfection, go to the Ritz-Carlton. Haight Street is for hippies. It's gritty, unpolished, and as authentically San Francisco as it gets :)

We aim to support diverse modern and creative, often nomadic lifestyles. Whether you prefer sharing everything or your own private bedroom and bathroom - plug into our community in the way that’s right for you.

Местоположение

Сан-Франциско, Калифорния, Соединенные Штаты

Haight-Ashbury is an incredible relic of San Francisco’s past. The neighborhood, also known as “The Haight” or “Upper Haight”, succinctly personifies the City’s history, aesthetic, and culture.

It is perhaps the most colorful swath of acreage in San Francisco, and remains one of the last-standing neighborhoods to retain an eccentric personality.

The Haight rose to fame during the Counterculture Movement during the Vietnam War era; it became a regular feature in international news headlines and incited a global initiative for social change with special thanks to the 1967 Summer of Love, and a little help from Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead.

The Haight-Ashbury neighborhood is nestled in between three parks: Golden Gate Park, the Panhandle, and Buena Vista Park, making it somewhat of an urban oasis. Within the parks you'll find: Museums, botanical gardens, seasonal music festivals, and a tea garden.

We recommend:
- Eating at a one of the delicious restaurants or food trucks, or catching a bus to Japantown for ramen.
- Renting a bike and crossing the famous bay bridge.
- Walking, biking, skating or pedal boating in the park.
- Shopping in the local stores.
- Attending a local art or theatre performance.
