A sweet two story unit right in the heart of Ponsonby, a stones throw from Good One and Ripe (great cafes) and tons of hip bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. Sitting on a quiet street surrounded by historic villas in a beautiful leafy neighbourhood.
A very light, spacious 1 bedroom unit which can fit 3 comfortably (with one on the fold out couch in the lounge.) The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs with the lounge/dining and kitchen downstairs. It is in a very quiet street and upstairs looks out onto a neighbours garden so you feel miles away from the city even though most of the best bars/restaurants/shopping are just at the top of the street.
You'll have the whole place to yourself and it has pretty much everything you need including a washing machine (with washing line outside.) No TV but wifi throughout. You're welcome to borrow a bike and surfboard (long,) just let me know to leave them out. Off street covered parking is also free.
I may or may not be in town at the same time but should be contactable by phone regardless.
Wandering around Ponsonby / GreyLynn is delightful with the leafy treelined streets, small parks dotted between the houses, glimpses of the Harbour, the grand old villas, the countless top cafes and restaurants. It's not even that far from the sea (Herne Bay is about ten minutes walk.) Also close to lots of little designer boutiques and only a 30minute downhill walk to the city/waterfront through Western Park...(you can get the bus back up.)
You have an off street covered park if you need it. Both Richmond Rd and Ponsonby Road have most buses to get you most places on them including the link which does a loop around town (to ferries and trains as well.)
As it is in a block of units with really lovely considerate neighbours you need to be relatively quiet and considerate too... No loud late nights and please keep the driveway/parking area and deck free of clutter.
I'm a 32 year old paediatric physiotherapist from New Zealand. I've spent most of the last ten years travelling. I discovered airbnb on my last trip and loved it as an alternative to soulless hotels so am happy to share my house to repay the favour and give foreigners a homely experience while exploring New Zealand. Happy to help with any tips for Auckland or New Zealand.
