Guest bedroom in downtown historic district. Our neighborhood is really fun and extremely convenient. 10 minute walk to light rail, 3 miles from the airport. 5 minute walk to cute cafes and galleries in the up and coming Roosevelt Arts district. Close to ASU downtown, An easy one mile walk to the Phoenix Convention Center, The Phoenix Art Museum, The Hearst Museum, The Children's Museum, and the AZ Science Center.

Our house was built in 1926. Your room, which has hardwood floors, comes with a full sized bed, and is is about 15x15. The house has one bathroom that will be shared by you and folks who live here full time. If you are coming with friends, we have a couple of air mattresses as well.

We are happy to pick you up and drop you off at the airport, $10 each way, schedules permitting. You will have the house to yourself a lot of the day, but we are always available by phone. We have wifi, and no tv. Vegetarian or vegan dinner or breakfast provided for $10 per person. . You are free to bring your own food and cook for yourself if you prefer. We have a nice short haired cat who will keep you company while we are out, although she will most likely just hide under the bed most of the time you are here :)

Check out is at 12, check in is after 3. If you plan on checking out after 12, or arriving before 3 pm, please check with us ahead of time as additional fees may need to be charged.

We are experienced yoga and meditation practitioners, you are welcome to join along if you like! We have a ton of friends who are massage therapists and yoga teachers, if you would like to schedule a massage while you are here, or a private yoga class, we can arrange that for you.

We have a washer and dryer available for your use. If you would like us to do your laundry for you, there is a $5 fee.

Free lending library available for your use. Cute front porch to eat breakfast on. I am a professional photographer, please inquire about portrait specials!

I loved this place! I didn't meet Rebecca, but her partner Gunnar was very hospitable, accommodating, and very friendly. All of my communications with Rebecca were pleasant as well. The space was peaceful and low key and the neighborhood their house is located in is close to some great spots in the Phoenix/Tempe area. Thanks Rebecca and Gunnar!!

Rebecca's house was about a 20 minute walk from the Phoenix Convention Center. I had a lovely time chatting with Rebecca and Gunnar one evening. Rebecca's welcome email pointed out some great places in the neighborhood at which to eat, including a great coffee shop and outdoor diner. She did forget to send it to me before I arrived, so I was at a lost when I first got there, but we worked it out.

Gunnar made me feel welcome as a friend would. As both were away when I arrived, Rebecca sent me super clear instructions on where to find everything in the house with great recommendation of restaurants in the neighborhood. She had made my bed and prepared a towel. I had a great time at their place and it was very practical as I could go to the Conference Center walking (15 minutes): perfect location. The Roosevelt block (Art District) is very close. I would highly recommend this place if you're in the "CouchSurfing/Hostel" spirit of sharing stories and meeting locals, like a friend at home. Not if you're looking for a fancy modern anonymous-like hotel. If I'm back in Phoenix one day, I'll stay here again.

My daughter and I instantly felt welcome by Rebecca and Gunnar. We didn't arrive when we hoped and appreciated how flexible they were with things. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. We also enjoyed meeting their cats. Ours was just an overnight stay and we would book at this location again. Wonderful hosts and a very convenient location.

'Twas a warm, welcoming, and whimsical stay for my first-ever visit to Phoenix. Rebecca and Gunnar made me feel home right away. They're quite friendly, helpful, and conversational; their stories and experiences are fascinating to listen to. One could chat with them at ease for hours on sundry topics of travel, philosophy, life, and just about anything else. Fans of felines will be delighted; there are two in the household, and the neighbourhood (coincidentally called Garfield, though the eponym is presidential rather than feline) has many more. The private room was cozily simple and very spacious, with a comfortable high bed. The weather outside was chilly (this was late December, so I picked the right time to come), but the house was warm and toasty. The shared bathroom was clean and had everything I needed. This residence (a charming vintage bungalow with hardwood floors) is well situated, right off the Roosevelt Row Arts District. Good coffee shops and eateries (I recommend Street, Songbird, and Jobot for coffee, Mother Bunch for brews, Melt for ice cream, and the Welcome Diner for just about any time of day) are a short (5-15 minutes) walk away. Downtown, light rail (an easy connection to Sky Harbor), Heritage Square, Talking Stick Arena, and the Convention Center are just a little bit farther on foot. Nearby buses can bring you to more distant parts (Old Town Scottsdale, Desert Botanical Gardens) in just over an hour. In summary, I recommend Rebecca and Gunnar as hosts, and I would stay here again on a future visit.

The house was in a great location for walking downtown. The hosts were very nice. I would recommend it for those folks that like cats and are super laid back. I was there for business purposes so not having easy access to clean towels, a hair dryer or an iron was a little stressful.

Hi Tiffanie, We are a little surprised by your review as there are a couple of comments which are not true. We gave you a clean towel when you first arrived, and when your unexpected male friend arrived (who we permitted to stay free of charge for a night), we gave him a clean towel as well. You had access to the washing machine and dryer, free of charge, so had you wanted to wash your towel during your 5 day stay, you were free to do so. Or had you just asked, we would have happily supplied you with an additional towel, or even thrown your towel in the wash for you ourselves. When you arrived the first night after midnight and asked me for the iron, I showed you where it was, and told you to use it at your leisure. We asked you repeatedly throughout your stay if you were happy with everything, and if there was anything we could do to make your stay more comfortable, and you never once mentioned any of the things above. We wholeheartedly recommend for ease of your future stays, to communicate your needs more clearly to your hosts so that they can insure your comfort.
