This is the very first time I've used AirBnB and I was actually scared at first to even try to live in someone else's home. But Shane's place was great.
The location in San Diego, Gas Lamp District, was perfect. We were within walking distance from so many different restaurants (e.g. Thai, Indian, Mediterranean, 24-hour, bars, burgers, pizza, etc). And it's close enough for a short drive to the infamous San Diego Zoo, the airport, Balboa Park and many other places too. There were a couple salons next door (one literally next door and one in the mall, just a block away).
Shane's place also had a stove, microwave, refrigerator, complimentary water, coffee maker (can't remember the brand but it's like a Nespresso), bar area with 2 chairs, couch, cleaning supplies, extra blankets, extra towels, extra toilet tissue and paper towels, hand/body soap, lotions, shampoo, blow dryer and ironing board. They're all nice conveniences to have.
The only thing that some might not like is the level of noise that you'll have sleeping in there. It didn't bother me, but for others who might like their peace and quiet might not prefer this location. Since this place is by bars, you'll hear partying all throughout the week. My stay was from Wednesday night through Saturday night and each day was loud (got louder as the weekend approached). Again, wasn't a problem for me, but I can see how others can get easily annoyed.
Other nice conveniences: There's a flatscreen TV with Netflix, Hulu and some other available apps that I can't remember. The 5-story (? more or less, can't remember) shopping mall is a block away. There's a CVS store with a pharmacy also in that mall.
If you like to be where all the action is at and have some privacy too, then I recommend Shane's cute little place.
