I love my apartment and I love being able to offer it to visitors. I know traveling is fun but also exhausting and I hope my house makes your trip a little easier and more personal feeling than some boxy hotel room. My apartment is sunny and bright and big, with high tin ceilings and loads of charm. It's near three different subway lines, is one stop from Manhattan and also the Wililamsburg Bridge is a few blocks away if you feel like taking a nice walk. There's also the ferry. So many options!
My entire apartment is available off and on throughout the year. It is so bright and sunny. Two bedrooms, each with a queen bed in it. The living room and kitchen are huge. High ceilings. Wood floors. Loads of charming details. Second floor of a three unit building in Williamsburg. Five minute or so walk to the L train Bedford stop, (which is one stop from Manhattan) as well as the J, M and G trains. Williamsburg is just overflowing with great shops and restaurants, all within walking distance. It seems like there's another restaurant opening up by the day. It's very safe and you never feel isolated or like you're the only person walking down the street at night. I have two bikes that you can use. A Citibike kiosk is in down the street. There's a new movie theater next door. There's an air conditioner in the bedroom and fans throughout the rest of the apartment. Internet included. Pets okay, as long as you don't have a dog that chews furniture and shoes up. If you do, write to me and we'll see if we can work something out. Also I have AppleTV. I know there's tons to see in New York but if you feel like curling up to some Netflix or Hulu when you get home, it's there for you.
You'll have access to the whole apartment. Bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom. There's a second bedroom if you need it so let me know if you do. I'll leave coffee for you and a pack of toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste. If there's anything like that you want me to specifically leave for you that I didn't just list, let me know and I'll see if I can get it. I'll leave fresh bedding and fresh towels. You'll have access to my wifi and my AppleTV. And I have one bike that you can use too. If you're traveling in a pair, there's Citibike kiosks all over the neighborhood and the day rate for tourist passes is I think about seven dollars. I'll leave a thing of Mrs. Meyers detergent that you can also use in the bathroom sink for quick washes.
Общение с гостями
I'll probably be there to greet you and show you around, not that it isn't self-explanatory. Or else I'll leave the key in a combination lock outside my building with instructions waiting inside on wifi password and how often to water the plants, stuff like that.
Just don't destroy anything. Treat my home the way you would want me to treat yours. And please don't leave food in the fridge.
I'm a writer. I do a lot of stories for the public radio show "This American Life." I'm working on a book which is why I am away from my place. I'm not crazy or passive aggressive. I am also not all that tall. I love my apartment and would love to have non crazy people staying in it who will also love it.
