Thanks Tracy for your feedback. Fortunately most our guests think differently which has me wondering why the non-constructive criticism, but more about that later. To address your comments one by one: it’s the first time I hear anything about the sheets and towels having an odor. I have instructed the cleaning lady to follow up on your findings and throw away any sheets and towels that have an odor and buy new ones, IF she confirms your findings. That fix is easy enough. It would still be a mystery, as all linens are washed between guests – the only thing we can think of is if the sheets and towels were left on too high a temperature in the dryer or for too long but given your other claims, I am in doubt.
Regarding the mattresses, I have receipts for 2 mattresses bought in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) that I am more than willing to share and none of the mattresses are very old. We have had many comments about the comfortable beds. Next time I would recommend being more specific as to which mattress you consider inadequate. As you are the only person that has mentioned anything about mattresses and as you have not been specific we cannot to take action on this item. Obviously all the mattresses in the house are not old and in need of replacing as evidenced by our receipt.
I have never heard of anyone renting a house because of the headboard of the beds. But to address the matter, 4 out of the 6 beds have headboards. The 2 top floor beds do not have headboards. ALL 4 second-floor beds have headboards (1 brown fabric, 1 black leather, 1 white painted wood, 1 blue fabric). Two are high-end specialty headboards and all are adequate. To give you the benefit of the doubt, I went to check if someone had stolen our headboards. I am pleased to say that all headboards are still in the house as they appear on the pictures.
To return to the motivation behind your review that goes counter to our good record, you stayed 4 nights and upon arrival asked for a refund for your last night ($75 refund) as you wanted to shorten your stay. I replied to you that we could not give you a refund for your last night as we barely make anything on a short term rental as our cleaning lady charges $300 to clean such a big house. To be exact we made $ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minus $ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) on your rental. I think you had great value for your money. You had 12 guests at the house. As you can see we don’t skimp on the cleaning service – another reason the claim about the linens seems dubious.
