Located on the northwest side of Lake Granby, only three and a half miles southwest of the beautiful Shadow Mountain Lake, and only about six miles from Grand Lake, this home is in a great location to enjoy hunting grounds, mountain resorts, and other natural recreation.
The gorgeous outdoors look like a fine oil painting, and the cabin-inspired architecture and decor of the house fits right into this idyllic mountain-scape.
Upon entering, you'll instantly feel like you are in a toasty ski lodge or hunting cabin, because the living room includes a working gas fireplace, two overstuffed armchairs, a matching, comfy couch, a cable, flat-screen TV and free WiFi. The rustic hunting cabin themed decor, including mounted deer and elk heads and cowboy hats cleverly perched on hooks on various support beams, contrasts warmly with the beautiful mountain views.
The kitchen, which adjoins the living and dining areas with no barriers between them (thus promoting more interaction and bonding among guests) is equipped with all the modern conveniences you'll need to cook up a feast for a night-in, relaxing in front of the fire, or whipping up an energy-building breakfast to prepare everyone for a long day of adventuring. The dining area seats up to six guests, though additional folks could always take their meals outside to the deck where a second table can accommodate up to four adults. In addition, there is a fire pit to warm up the hands and feet as the sun begins to set.
When it is time for you and your guests to get some shut-eye, head upstairs to one of two separate bedrooms, each of which has its own adjoined bathroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, gorgeous dresser and nightstand, and a master bathroom complete with a luxurious, jetted tub and two sinks.
The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and large closet for storing luggage, clothing, and recreational equipment like skis and snow boots. Through a door is a bathroom, complete with a standing shower and jetted tub.
The third bedroom, located on the lowest level, also features a queen-size bed and bathroom with a standing shower. The large, vintage dresser drawers are the perfect place for storing your sturdy winter clothing or your light, summer wares. All in all, this home comfortably accommodates up to six guests.
Thinking about a vacation in Colorado usually triggers thoughts of beautiful blankets of white snow, the sound of skis tearing through the powder, the higher-than-high altitude of the ski lift, and maybe the sweet taste of hot chocolate in front of a fire in the lodge. And you can have that - you're just 32 miles from Winter Park Resort, and 15 miles from Ski Granby Ranch.
Known as the "Western Gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park", there are plenty of trails to bike or hike - even drive an ATV through. The lakes provide great spots for boating, fishing and other water sports in the warmer seasons and ice fishing in the winter.
Hunters are welcome! - Grand County is thought to have some of the best hunting in Colorado due to the migrating elk herds - and will find that this home is perfectly situated for daily hunting trips (proper licensing is required).
Grand Lake is also called the "Snowmobiling Capital of Colorado", but can also be explored in the winter by snowshoeing, tubing, or Nordic skiing. Beyond Grand Lake are great destinations for day trips, such as Hot Sulphur Springs, Kremmling and Winter Park/Fraser.
There is a lockbox entry for guests. Code will be given prior to arrival.
