The host that personally attended the guest upon checking in, is actually Nadiah’s father. Nadiah is a medical student based in Johor Bahru. She is helping her father on the communication and IT, so there is no issue of privacy invasion. Correction, Nadia is not the host’s sister.
The guest arrived at 1.30 pm, which is one hour and thirty minutes before our standard check in time of 3.00 pm with no prior communication, hence it results in some waiting and slight confusion.
At dinner time, while the guest and family are having dinner in the dinning area. The host’s sincere intention is to assist in switching on the garden light located in the main lobby (about 50 feet away from the dining room) There is no incident of “passing the guest across the hall” and no privacy intrusion of “intimate moment”.
We have a night security guard and he is responsible to switch off the lights when it is not required. As we describe in our in-house guide, we promote the conservation of water and electricity.
This is a private house and we have sealed off the back portion for our own use, storage and maintenance. Our listing description is Garden kitchen, so it is outside the house. This has been personally briefed and shown to all our guest when they check in. The issue of “the back room and kitchen locked for their use only” does not arise.
Swimming pool maintenance is outsourced to a professional pool maintenance company with routine cleaning, chemical treatment and continuous filtration. Filtrate water are disposed periodically to get a crystal-clear water.
Malaysia has many immigrant, whether they are illegal or not is beyond our knowledge. Although there are some houses with low income tenant, we cannot be prejudiced as the surrounding area is peaceful and the guest has no untoward or criminal incident during their stay. The big mosque across the road adds to the peacefulness of the area.
It’s a pity that the host’s good intention welcoming the guest personally has been misinterpreted. The host is also present during check out. Apart from a pointer that a stone has chipped off near the swimming pool, the guest is silent on everything else.
We are truly puzzled on the sincerity of this particular guest. We have many happy and satisfied guest and we are always available for a direct communication and service, this is the first complaint on cleanliness. If the condition is as what has been described, they can always signal it to us or refuse to stay in for a refund but they choose to damage our reputation in public.
While we will take all the effort to improve our service, we are sad that the complaint is misleading and inaccurate. There has been a great miss expectation on the part of the guest on a private guest house. We certainly cannot match a seven-star hotel accommodation and service. Last but not least, personal matters whether the host has a young wife or not is of no relevance in the complaint issue here.
We also feel that with inaccurate information and knowledge this guest has done injustice to us. Honestly, the credibility of this complaint covering broad issues from Privacy law, trespassing, cleanliness, immigration, criminal and jealousy is really questionable and needs psychiatric assessment.
