Let me start by saying that Apurva and her parents were exceedingly warm hosts, and to say that they opened their home to us to make us feel welcome would be an understatement (and just to clarify - no, we didn't know any of them prior to our trip to Jaipur!) Since we were to be in Jaipur for only one night, we booked a single room with extra mattresses so 4 of us could stay (this, btw, was not an option we got in too many other places - most places insist you book 2 rooms for 4 people). The room was huge, neat, clean, and homely and had an attached bathroom with all basic necessities (clean towels, soap etc). The bed was large enough for 3 of us to fit comfortably (and no, we weren't 3 tiny people!) and there was a mattress in addition. Apurva's mother also told us that in case we wanted more mattresses, we were to just let her know and she'd arrange for it :) The bed covers were fresh and clean, as were the light blankets provided to each of us. There was also an AC for us to use though we didn't since the weather was quite pleasant with just the fans on. Apurva herself wasn't there since she was away on work, but she ensured she kept in touch with us over the phone to find out when we'd want to check in and if we needed help with anything at all, and she put us through to her mother who would be in the house. The family was very accommodating with regard to our checking in - we got in only after dinner so it was quite late, but they made no fuss at all - they welcomed us in and even offered to make us tea or coffee if we wanted, late though it was! We had to leave early the next morning to get to church, and even though Apurva's mother had to get preparations for Karwachauth underway, she ensured she had tea and biscuits (they had checked with us earlier and we'd told them we wouldn't be able to stay for breakfast) ready for us to have before we left. The house is very well located if you've come to Jaipur for shopping. It's just a few kilometers from markets like Johri Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar, Tonk Road, etc. and the house is not difficult to find either. The locality seems quite safe and is in a quiet residential area. There was also enough space in front of the house for us to park our car. Additionally, we found Apurva's parents to be entirely non-intrusive hosts, though approachable at all times :) If you're looking for a 5-star hotel, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a good, clean, safe and homely place where you're made to feel more like family and less like a guest, and where your hosts go out of...
