Stay in your own little haven -- a historic stone chalet that was once the original Kilmichael Tower, back in 1932. This one bedroom chalet, with impressive two-foot thick stone walls and 23-foot cathedral ceiling, is the perfect setting for a memorable getaway-- with views of the stars from bed.
The kitchen has a new refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee maker and grinder, toaster, basic spices, dishes and cookware. Nearby the Switzerland Inn serves three meals daily with views into the valley.
Location, location, location right in the village of Little Switzerland -- surrounded by nature, in a historic building on a 4000 foot high mountaintop, and near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Chalet Switz is a fun vacation getaway space tailored to one or two persons in a spacious residential mountain neighborhood with nature still intact. The romance of interior stone walls makes it seem like you are in a castle of your own. The stone fireplace, spiral stair, and Kohler Greek tub in the bedroom loft are designed for the agile and the young at heart
It is a delightful stroll downhill in an ever-changing landscape to the village center 800' lower in elevation and another mile beyond that to Grassy Falls. Along the way you can shop and snack at the bookstore, ice cream shop, cafe and other shops. Scenic drives of 5 to 45 miles take you to Mt. Mitchell, Crabtree Meadows and Falls, Linville, Penland and America’s best fine craft studios, and Asheville and the Biltmore.
You have access to the entire chalet, yard with grill and roses and berries in season, and the adjacent Commons area stretching north a few acres.
