The Blacksmith's Cottage is located on a farm called Lisdillon. Built by the convicts in the 1800s, with a big garden and a deck overlooking Lisdillon rivulet. A private beach is only a two minute stroll away.
The historic Blacksmith's Cottage is a rubble stone building located on the East Coast of Tasmania dating back to the mid-1800s and is set on the historic sheep farm and vineyard, Lisdillon.
Featuring two bedrooms, a double (with queen sized bed) and a twin (with two single beds) and an open plan living and dining area with cosy wood fire and separate kitchen, the Blacksmith's is surrounded by charming, spacious gardens, sunny sitting areas and stunning country and ocean views.
The house has been renovated and includes ground floor kitchen, living and dining, and two upstairs bedrooms. The bathroom is on the ground floor and the living area has doors that open onto a deck which overlooks the Lisdillon Rivulet.
The house features:
•two bedrooms, a double and a twin
•open-plan dining and living
•separate kitchen with all necessary ammenities
•door opening from living area to sunny deck and cottage garden with barbecue area
•deck with outdoor dining area that overlooks the rivulet
•Private beach and river 2 minutes’ walk away
•Spectacular views across the farm, Freycinet Peninsula and river.
Due to the steep staircase, this house is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
Located 21 kilometres from Swansea and set amongst farm land and vineyards, the Blacksmith's is the perfect setting for family holidays and cosy weekends away. Enjoy leisurely walks on the beach, try your luck fishing at the river or simply relax in the sun with a book, breathing in the fresh country air. Alternatively, take advantage of nearby attractions including East Coast wineries, Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park (1hr drive) and Maria Island ferry (25min drive).
Please note that though locals drink the water (it is clean), we do advise that guests bring their own drinking water.
Perfect for a relaxed weekend away, and you may even get to try some of Lisdillon's delicious pinot noir or sauvginon blanc.

You may not necessarily see us as I'm often in Melbourne and we are quite busy on the farm but we are always quick to respond to any queries.
- It is a working sheep farm so if you do go walking around the farm please close gates behind you.
