Why visit the ocean to stay on the land?
Experience the thrill of living aboard a sailboat in the beautiful and safe harbor of Ocracoke Island.
You will love relaxing in the hammock and being gently rocked to sleep at night in the spacious cabin.
From that vantage point, you will have a wonderful view of the sunset on one side, the historic lighthouse on the other, and the entire waterfront of the town spread out before you with all its quaint shops and restaurants.
The sailboat is anchored in Silver Lake harbor, but for an additional fee, I can put her at a dock for you. She has similar amenities to an RV camper. So think camping instead of Marriott.
There is a roomy double bed, perfect for two. For additional bed space there is a table that converts into another double bed. ($25 extra per person after 2 guests)
A functional kitchen set up- with a 2 burner stove, ice box, & sink.
The boat has a bathroom with a toilet & there is a solar shower for your use.
There are electric outlets to charge your phone, laptops, etc.
Currently there is no Wifi, so unplug, and unwind.
You will have the entire boat to yourself. And since she is not tied up to a dock, you will have real privacy without being far from things.
I will be staying on another boat anchored nearby and will be available to take you back and forth to shore in the dinghy.
You can also stay aboard her while tied up to the docks across from the Visitor Center and very close to the center of town. There will be an additional fee for the dock.

Because of the nature of this vacation rental, I will be available to answer questions, assist with things, and ferry you to shore. Maybe we'll hang out a little.
The live aboard community is a great bunch of folks, perhaps you will get to hang out with many of them while you sojourn through our lifestyle.

Please be aware that rough weather conditions may require your stay to be cancelled. Your safety and comfort is important to us, and if we must cancel, you will get a full refund, and we will do all that we can to reschedule you for a time that works for both you and Mother Nature.
That said, living on a boat at anchor during foul weather is adventurous, exciting, and has a certain charm to it. This is not true for everyone, but for those of you adventurous souls who want to ride it out, I will consider letting you do so on the condition that I will also be staying aboard. There is plenty of room, and I'll have it no other way. Arrr!
You will be staying on a boat at anchor. If you do not know how to swim, you must wear a life jacket (provided) anytime that you are not inside the cabin. The shore is not far, but your safety is important to me, so if you can't swim, you must either stay inside the cabin, or wear a life jacket.

I love nature and the natural world, creating beautiful moments, making music, making and building things, and the richness of life that is found when you peek underneath the modern cultural overlay.
I love good people and sharing with them the slice of paradise that I live in.
I now live on a sailboat and want to share that experience too.
