We bought this house in 2015, but before moving in rented it to vacationers for a whole summer until the end of our lease. After that we moved in and have lived at this home for 2 years. During that time, we installed new TV's, a beautiful backsplash, planted trees, painted the house, installed a ceiling fan, added extra lighting, hung canopies for shade, and put in an outdoor dining-set. We have decided to rent out only because we are now a family of 6 (4 young children) and need more space.
We are now inviting vacationers once again to come enjoy our home. It's a great place and has worked very well for us. This home is a duplex comprised of 436 and 438 So if you are interested in both units it has 4 separate bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one bathroom has no shower), 2 kitchenettes and an outdoor dining area. One of the 4 bedrooms was converted from a garage and sleeps comfortably with it's own bathroom / sink. Travelers could rent either the entire home or separate units.
With regards to parking, from a local's standpoint you don't even need to rent a car. Unless you have infants/toddlers in baby seats, or plan to do allot of driving, between bikes that this rental has to uber, it is recommended to save your money. If, however you have a car, there is typically ample street parking.
Beach is within walking distance - guests have access to the beach cruisers, umbrellas, beach chairs and beach towels.

This rental is a duplex. Any renter has the option to rent the whole house if not already booked or one unit viewed her3 . Each has it's benefits - the back unit (438 Nautilus Street) has a larger patio, a peaceful tree which offers shade and a tasteful outdoor dining set. This unit has a detached bedroom with it's own bathroom which offers guests privacy and convenience. The front unit (436 Nautilus Street) has a friendly patio with french doors that open to give an open indoor-outdoor feel to your stay. The Kitchen has been remodeled, and the bedrooms and beds are comfortable.

My husband Paul, our baby Maverick and I love living in La Jolla!!! I grew up on Long Island, so the proximity to the beach and ocean was engrained as a top priority. Luckily we have made our dreams come true owning our home walking distance to the most beautiful beach in Southern California… where it is always 71º and sunny! :-)
