This property is six acres located 10 to 15 minutes south from downtown Kailua-Kona at 1500 feet elevation. It is located down a quiet dead end country lane with neighbors that include coffee and macadamia nut farms as well as a Halau (Hawaiian Hula school, sometimes you will hear Hawaiian chants and music coming through the trees).
This is rural Hawaii with the sites and sounds of nature all around you.
Guests enter the property on the farm access road which is partly paved and partly gravel. While driving into the property you will see the great ocean views as well as our Aquaponics farm located over an acre down the hill from where you will be staying.
Once settled in, relax on the private covered lanai while soaking in rural Hawaii and the panoramic views.
Our Aquaponics systems, located over an acre away and downhill from this home produce hundreds of pounds of fresh, vibrant and healthy veggies per week that are sold 100% into the local food systems. We grow everything with organic principles. Currently we are growing baby lettuces, kale, chard, turnip, green onion, braising greens and more at this location. We are in the process of building this farm out and adding new Aquaponics food production systems on a regular basis. We also are planning to install a citrus and other fruits orchard in the near future.
We started farming in Hawaii in 2010 at our original farm location about 20 minutes south of this farm/home. We started this farm in 2016 and are in the process of building out full scale Aquaponics production systems. We expect to be done with farm expansion in 2017 and at that point will be producing thousands of pounds of veggies per week at our two locations.
We also teach people to grow food with Aquaponics. We run educational programs under the name Living Aquaponics Inc and we can be found online for more info.
Also on site and is our family home. I live on site with my wife and two sons (age 7 & 9) and our small dog Peanut. Peanut is allowed to run in the yard above where you will be staying but she wears a wireless fence collar when outside which does not allow her to go into the area of the home where you will be staying. If she sees you she may bark at you and wag her tail. She is very friendly and she loves pets but likes to lick a lot! My sons are typical kids who love to have fun. While the home you are staying in is detached and separate from our house you may hear sounds of kids and the dog from time to time. We are a family run farm so please expect the noises of farm life.
Also on site are other small homes where extended family live part of the year as well as farm workers live off and on through out the year.
*I am your point of contact for all questions and needs. Feel free to say hi if you see anyone around and everyone is really nice but if you have questions or need something I am your guy. Please call or text me and I will help you in any way that I can.
*We are a family run farm, we have kids living on site. This means a few things:
-We are not into loud parties, if that is what you are looking for this is not the place for you
-No smoking on site. If you want to smoke you must leave the property
-We are a small commercial farm, which means we get up early and we work in our veggie systems. You may hear the sounds of us and our workers in the morning while harvesting and caring for the crops or setting up new Aquaponics systems. As stated above these crops are located over an acre away but you can see them from your lanai.
-This is our newest farm and we are still putting in some of the landscaping, fruit trees etc. You will find young banana trees and other fruits around but a lot of what we have planted fruit wise at this location is still growing up. There is also wide open pasture areas.
We hope you enjoy our farm and Kona as much as we do!

I am your main point of contact for all questions and needs. I live on site but I am pretty busy managing two farms and raising a family (and fishing and diving if I have extra time!!). If I'm here I am available to answer questions. If I am not I am just a text or phone call away. I ask that you call or text me to see where I'm at. Either way I will answer your questions as best I can.
There are other people living on the farm, please be respectful of everyone's space and please direct all questions and needs to me.
