We have lived on this property for over 45 years. The success we've enjoyed with our other 3 Sunset Villas Vacation Rentals, located on the opposite side of Buena Vista Lagoon in Oceanside, has encouraged us to also offer this special and private one bedroom apartment. Due to City of Carlsbad restrictions, this property is listed as an extended stay rental. We encourage you to contact us with any questions.
This completely furnished one bedroom apartment, with private fenced in yard and patio, is located on the side of the owner's personal home. The occupants of the one bedroom apartment will be restricted to the unit, attached yard, and parking area. The Guest House is a private residence as well.

Rental Rules: Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules listed below at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property.
This rental cannot be used as a location forconducting any business activities on site, or, of the housing of guests who will, in turn, be clients subject to business activities while on premises, without first notifying and asking permission from the property host before a requested reservation can be accepted.
As a service to our neighbors, and other's living on the property, there will be no playing of amplified instruments, the use of horns, or drums. Quiet time for out of door gatherings will be from 10:00 P.M. to 9:00 A.M.
This is a NON-SMOKING property.
A small pet under 25lbs is allowed upon prior approval only. An additional per month pet fee of $50 is due upon arrival.
People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. If you choose to have your own guests, you will be held responsible for their actions and any damages they incur.
This is not a party house. Quiet time is requested between 10pm and 9am.
Please respect our property and furnishings as you would your own. Any damages sustained to property or furnishings will be taken out of the security deposit if necessary.
HOUSEKEEPING: THIS IS NOT A HOTEL ROOM, BUT A HOME. While the house is sure to be clean when you arrive, there is no daily housekeeping service. Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen, making sure that all dishes and pots and pans have been washed and put away before checking out. Your cleaning fee does not fully cover our cleaning expenses, and your washing and cleaning up after yourselves helps to keep down the cleaning fee we ask of our guests.
Live plants on the property require regular watering and we will notify you before maintenance arrives if your stay is extended. Your privacy is important to us, so contact us with any requests or concerns.
My wife and I are senior citizens who are still very active. We have been married for the past 59 years, and have lived on our property in Carlsbad, California since 1970. We are both native Californians who were born in Los Angeles, and grew up in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Hollywood. We made the wonderful move of coming south to Carlsbad in the 70's to live along the immediate coast, and to enjoy the less crowded lifestyle, clean, clear air, and moderate climate. Our recreation for the past several years has been to attend many of the numerous live theater, and concert events in our area of San Diego. We have enjoyed traveling through Europe several times, and have taken advantage of staying in private homes during our visits, rather than in hotel rooms. This experience has encouraged us to open up our property to serve as a vacation rental for those who wish to visit our beautiful Southern California coastal area.
