A room at minimalist and geometrical triplex apartment designed/previously owned by a Norwegian family. The small bedroom sleeps two, it has its private bathroom with shower as well as two doors allowing direct access to both kitchen/washing area and living/dining space.
Guests will have access to the spacious living and dining area, balcony, kitchen and washing area on the same floor.
The building has a lot to offer, from two swimming pools (one, smaller, indoors, and a bigger one outdoors temporarily under renovation) to a small private gym and a space for family events.
Guests will have a free access to a parking slot in the basement - upon availability.
The area, as well as the building itself, is quite gay-friendly.
– Both swimming pools are only open during the day. Gym closes 8 pm.
– If you would wish to park your car in the basement, please let us know in advance so we can try to arrange this for you with the house management.
The English and Portuguese speaking host, Fernanda lives literally across the street from the building (and works quite near, too) so she will be happy to help with tips on the area, and every doubt a guest might have.
Even though it is located just a five-minute walk from the most known beach of South America - the unique quality of this area is its total quietness. This is well complemented by Ipanema's main square, Praca General Osorio which is literally around the corner - with all its restaurants, bars, shops and a 24h Ipanema's largest supermarket Zona Sul. Most importantly, you won't be able to hear any of it at all.
General Osorio metro station is just 2 minutes away.
And if you need a taxi, there is plenty of them passing by the building at pretty much any time of the day. However 99 Taxi is a great application that works well in Rio, and Uber (much cheaper than at most of the cities in the world) is amongst Rio's best working services.
Designed and previously owned by a Norwegian family, this property looks different from most of the apartments available in Rio's Zona Sul. It has an elegant European touch in many of its features.
One of the main points of interest nearby is Favela Pavão Pavaozinho which happened to be one of the first 'pacified' communities in South Rio. For some years now Pavaozinho attracts many foreign visitors. If you decide to go (its elevator is literally some minutes walk from the building), please try to respect locals and avoid using your camera much (as people living there would prefer to avoid being seen as animals at the zoo).
- We would have to register you with the building's management on your arrival. For your safety, the building has a 24 hour Portuguese speaking reception - you could communicate with it via dialing 94 from the buzzer in the kitchen. The access of non registered guests to the building is prohibited. In case you would wish to invite a friend over, please let us know in advance. If you walk into the building from the beach wearing your swimming suite please use the garage access and do not forget to wash away the sand from your feet before getting into one of the two elevators. It is not allowed to consume food in the elevator. The music should not be played out loud between 10pm and 8am. This building recycles the trash. Please leave all the dry and clean recyclables (including plastic, metal, glass, wood, and paper) in the special bin provided at both kitchens. All other recyclables - with food leftovers and/or wet - as long as any organic trash/food - should go into another bin marked 'Organic'. There is a Trash Room next to the elevator. The large size recyclables should be left in the room. And the organic / smaller size recyclables should be placed in the indicated containers. We would like to kindly ask you to follow the rules carefully as violating the recycling instructions might make us paying a fine.
