A captivating apartment with a magical garden, this innovative 2/3 bedroom (3rd bedroom is a split-level child's room), 2 bathroom city retreat for 4 or family of 5 in a handsome Georgian main street in central Bath, has that rare combination of being both brilliantly modern and timelessly classic. The sophisticated interiors, impressive Georgian proportions, enchanting garden and the copious use of glass to connect with the surroundings are completely bewitching.
The smartly furnished and dramatic double height living room has lovely views through the dining area, and out into the garden. Central to the room is an original marble fire-place with gas coal-effect fire. The TV is wall mounted and alcoves on either side of the fireplace house a DVD, a selection of films and a Bose sound system. There is a pretty armchair and two opulent cream sofas; one is a large double sofa-bed and seats 3, the other seats 4.
A beautiful light and airy dining room blends into the garden with a contemporary glass wall and ceiling. A dark wood dining table comfortably seats up to 8 and a custom designed side-board of etched glass and warm honey coloured stone provides plenty of storage.
The large walled courtyard garden has been cleverly landscaped to be a year round joy. It is resplendent with pretty trees and shrubs and vines along with two narrow ponds. A garden gate gives you access to Henrietta Gardens, a charming city park.
The small traditional kitchen with stone tiled flooring also has views into the garden and contains a gas hob with electric oven and a small fridge. There is a small separate freezer located in the boiler room and here also is a washing machine combined with dryer.
There are two spacious and elegant bedrooms with large sash windows and cosy throws. One has a 5’ king bed, a small wall-mounted TV, chest of drawers and large walk-in wardrobe with hanging space, shelves and storage. The other double bedroom has two single 3’ beds that can zip and link to become a 6’ double, a chest of drawers and a walk-in wardrobe with hanging space, shelving and storage. A third bedroom is suitable for a child and has a single 3’ bunk bed at high level accessed by a ladder, with a chest of drawers under.
There is a good sized traditional bathroom with a double-ended roll-top bath (with hand held shower attachment), a hand-basin and WC. In addition, there is a contemporary shower room with a small shower, hand-basin and WC with storage over.
Entrance to the property can either be from Great Pulteney Street itself and down a level to the property or else via a private entrance via the garden at the back which is a level entrance to the property.
There is a parking permit for 1 car providing on street parking within a residential zoned area. Alternatively the Bath Spa train or bus stations are a ten minute walk away.
The guests may access all of the apartment including the private garden at the rear of the property.
