Our apartment is bright and airy with 12 ft ceilings in the main room. You have the whole apartment to yourself, there are no shared living spaces. There is one sleeping area with a queen size bed, and if a third guest comes there is a twin bed in a separate sleeping loft. We are lucky to live in Lucerne Park, a quiet West Asheville neighborhood walking distance to many restaurants, pubs, bars and coffee shops. A surprising number of these have gotten recent press in Bon Appetit!
The apartment is surprisingly spacious, open and bright. The high ceilings and unique design make it one a one of a kind. You are in our home, but far enough separated from the main house to be its own private oasis. The Queen bed is brand new and super comfy! (May'17) We also have a new sofa (June'17). Use the deck and backyard as you like. The slide on the chicken coop is not standard height and may not be appropriate for little kids & the roof of the coop is sharp, so please don't let your kids play there. The swings under the tree are great and can actually hold an adult. If an eno hammock is up, feel free to nap in it, or bring your own! We are an active family, but will keep most of our outdoor time to the front while you are here. We have chickens, so we will be tending to them daily in the back--please keep the chain link gates closed, our "girls" will wander! *July 2017 update, we had an unfortunate incident with our flock of chickens. We are currently reassessing the security of the coop and looking for a new flock.* We will be in the back to tend to the chickens and for other household chores and use. The equipment and instruments in the studio are for our use when we don't have guests, but especially if you are a musician please feel free to ask questions. If you have a third guest, the single bed loft is comfy but other guests have to walk through this area to get to the bath. Also, this room is closest to our upstairs living quarters, so there is some sound transfer (footsteps and sounds from kitchen especially).
Parking is on the street, and neighbors usually try to leave space in front of each other's homes for that home's residents/guests--there is usually space available right in front of the gate to the unit. If you are facing the house, it is on the right end of the white picket fence, and most guests find it easiest to park near there. It is fine if you are a bit towards the neighbor with the yellow house. Please avoid parking in front of the neighbor with the brick house on the opposite side of us as they are elderly and need to park right in front of their home. If possible, it is preferable that you have just one car to park. The entrance to the apartment is through our studio/office space, but this area is rarely used when we have guests. You have access to your own private apartment including a living room with a 12 ft ceiling, an fully stocked Ikea kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave and a full size refrigerator; a private bedroom with a new high end mattress set and bedding, perfect for two guests. Up the steps to the loft you have use of a second sleeping area with an IKEA twin bed. Access to the private full bath for the unit is through this sleeping loft as well. While this sleeping loft and computer area is completely private and for your use only, you will hear us in our home upstairs more from this space. Likewise, we will hear more of our guests when you are in this area. Otherwise, we usually go a whole visit only seeing our guests in passing a time or two, as the spaces are actually very separate. Of course, I am always available if you have questions, I know the area well, I grew up here and have sold real estate for 20 years in Asheville.

Другие важные подробности
We provide a coffee machine and coffee, creamer and sugar, as well as a tea kettle a some assorted teas. We are business travel ready--we do not have pets in the home, but we do have chickens in the backyard.
If you have a third guest, please note that the twin sleeping loft is just below our living room and kitchen, unavoidably sound does transfer, both directions. As typical of lower level apartments expect to hear foot steps and floor creaks as we have wood floors. If we are cooking or cleaning in our kitchen you will hear dishes and some voice transfer. We will be respectful, but please message us if you are especially bothered! Our space accommodates small families with a child, however, please don't book based on use of the play equipment/deck--the play structure was re-purposed into the chicken coop; our school age kids still use the slide and swings, but the slide and deck area are not suitable for young children.
The door at the top of the stairs is locked and should be kept locked! That is access to our home upstairs. If you plan to bring a child along, please be sure to read the description for information to be sure our place will suit your needs. Please message us or call if you have a concern or question. We answer all communication from our guests quickly, and will address any concern with respect and efficiency. In return, we ask that you also communicate any questions or concerns directly with us. We believe the Airbnb community is based on trust and communication, and will make every attempt to meet and exceed your expectations for a great stay.
