My girlfriend and I really liked this location.
The good: (1) the location is well-placed for getting around, and you're close to a subway station and a series of buses; (2) The room is very nice, clean, and spacious; (3) We were on the sixth floor, and the elevator works and arrives quickly; (4) the bathroom is also very large, clean, and is equipped with handsoap/shampoo/body wash/conditioner; (5) There is a cafe on the ground floor which is handy in the morning, and you can also get 10 per cent off your order at the bar adjacent to the Bunkhouse; (6) check-in and check-out were very quick and simple.
A few things to keep in mind: (1) You're on the sixth floor, and the room has a fan, not A/C. On high, the fan did it's job and we had no trouble sleeping due to the heat. You can also open the windows. (2) If you're arriving with a car, the location includes no parking space. So you'll probably end up doing what he did, and reserving a parking spot in a lot at $35+/day. It's honestly much easier to get around via public transport, and no one seems to check your transfers throughout the day so...; (3) The building is on a pretty busy street, which is cool for getting around, but it does mean there is a fair amount of noise from the street below, at least when we were there on the weekend.
Overall, cool spot, and worked great for us as we visited around SF using public transport.
