My wife and I stayed at this apartment in Ravello. It is true that the pictures don't do it justice, It is beautiful. What I will say are there are a few things that could have greatly improved our stay. The first is that we had some trouble finding the unit. We did use GPS and got close but really struggled to find it. To get there you must drive down the hill past the auditorium where they hold concerts in the winter. Then there is a bus stop where you want to park your car. Even though we were told you can park for free and legally in the white lines down the hill we could not find them. So we parked in the blue lines and it cost about 15 euro per day. Given the day of the week there were changes in price. As many reviews mention there is a rooster that crows. It crows for hours on end from about 5:00 AM till you leave the unit. It makes for a very hard time to sleep. We did use a fan that helped drown out the noise. The church bells arnt to bad mostly because you are up before they go off at 7:30. There are 178 steps up to the city and it takes about 15 minutes to walk up the stairs. It is a pretty walk and not too bad even for us who are slightly out of shape. Three other complaints. The first is that there is not a toilet seat on the toilet, and while it was clean it was not desirable. Second the water pressure was very weak. Lastly the bed was extremely hard. I have spent a lot of time in Italy and they have hard beds, but this one was much harder then usual. Our floor at home with carpet is much softer then the bed. My wife slept in the bed and I slept on the couch because it was much better then the bed.
There are a lot of small things that could have been done to make the experience better, a toilet seat and some information about how to drown out the noise, information about where to park, ect. The bed is the only major thing that did not meet our expectations.
